About Choreography & Music Composition
I see choreography and music as my way to chase rasa - that special feeling where art just hits you, and everything else fades away. It’s what I aim for, whether I’m putting together a dance drama or composing a fresh melody.
My Approach
- I stick to the roots. Learning Sanskrit and reading shastra (classical texts) helps me ground every piece in tradition, not just guesswork.
- My process is a mix of hard study and letting go. Studio’s got a mirror and a dustbin - one to show me what’s off, the other to dump what’s not working. Keeps me honest.
What I Do
- I create and direct large-scale productions, sometimes pulling stories straight from classics like the Mahabharata.
- If you’re looking for something unique, I take up custom commissions for both solo and group pieces - milestone shows like a ranga pravesha, or something totally abstract.
- I handle everything from choreography to original rhythmic composition, so your performance is fresh and tailored.
Music That Fits
- I compose for both Carnatic and Hindustani styles, often blending them to build a sound that’s new but still rooted.
- The music isn’t just background; it’s part of the story. Think of it as the soul of the show.
For anyone hunting for Indian classical dance choreography or Carnatic and Hindustani fusion music, I bring a partnership mindset. The goal? Make something meaningful that really lands with your audience.

My Story
Namaste, I’m Sharat Prabhath. Art runs in my veins—my family’s been living it for centuries. My dad taught me more than just dance and music; he gave me bhakti, real devotion. I’ve had some wild, goosebump moments, like narrating Harikatha in Melkote when the story and real life just collided. Now, with my Ankita name ‘Rasikapriya Sri Krishna Vittala,’ I’m stepping deeper into composing as a Haridasa. I just hope I live up to this blessing.
My Work
What I Do - I perform Harikatha, teach Kathak dance (online/offline), offer Karnatic vocal classes, compose and choreograph for stage.
Harikatha for Today - I share stories from our epics, making them click for modern folks—like finding hope in tough times.
Multimedia Dance Productions - With my brother, we mix tradition and tech—think 3D visuals and epic stories, all on stage.
Kathak & Thematic Music Composition - Dance and music tell the story. I play with taals and ragas to bring out the real rasa, the bliss.
