I believe in a partnership with my students, offering hands-on adjustments and guidance tailored to your body's needs each day.

Here, you can see how I guide a student through a headstand, or sirsasana. My teaching style is about partnership and support, ensuring you feel safe and stable as you explore what your body can do.

"Breathing is not just inhaling and exhaling; it's a reminder that every breath is a gift of life." In my classes, we focus on conscious breathwork to connect deeply with this gift as we move through the finishing sequence.

As a teacher, my goal is to apply the teachings as they relate to the student, not just to myself. Here I am assisting a student in Sirsasana, helping them find their alignment and stability in the pose.

A relationship, whether in yoga or in life, means we come together to support and build each other up. This clip shows a moment of practice and adjustment, a push and pull that helps us grow together.

Behind every success is a support system. This video shows a partner adjustment for Karandavasana, an advanced arm balance. This kind of support, feedback, and compromise is essential to the practice.

"There is no shade like a mother, no security like a mother." Here, my mother provides support during Supta Vajrasana, a deep backbend. This is a beautiful example of how support can come in many forms.

About Guided Practice & Support

My teaching isn't about standing at the front of the room; it’s about being right beside you. In these sessions, you’ll see me offering hands-on adjustments—this is my way of ensuring your body finds stability and safety as you explore deeper work. Whether we are correcting a posture or refining your breath, my goal is to provide the physical and mental support you need to practice without fear.

I view the body much like a building. As an architect, I understand that strength comes from a solid foundation, not just the facade. When I work with you in the shala, my hands-on adjustments are about finding that structural integrity in your asanas. We are not just stretching; we are checking the alignment of your spine and joints to prevent injury and invite ease.

Whether you are coming to me for chronic pain relief, prenatal support, or to deepen your existing Mysore-style practice, my role is to act as a partner in your process. We focus on the parampara (lineage) of Ashtanga yoga, using breathing techniques and intentional movement to clear the friction in your daily life.

Based in HSR Layout, I offer private, 1-on-1 sessions where we can dive into the specific needs of your constitution. We start where you are—even if that means using props or modifications—and gradually work toward a practice that is truly your own. It is a slow process, but it is one that builds lasting balance.

I’m Sanjana. Before yoga became my full-time calling, I worked as an architect, and I still carry that love for structure into how I teach. I believe the mat is where we build our inner treasure chamber, and I am here to help you lay the right foundation.
