Holistic Ashtanga Yoga Therapy in HSR Layout
I believe yoga is a path to inner discovery, not just a physical workout. My classes in HSR Layout focus on mindful movement and breath, specifically adapted to support your physical healing and mental well-being.
My practice is a daily conversation with my body, not a race towards perfection. This video shows a part of my personal sadhana, where I focus on mindful movement and listening to what my body needs. This is the same gentle, accepting approach I bring to my therapy sessions with you.
This is a little about my journey. I am a Level 2 authorised Ashtanga Yoga teacher under Guruji Sharath Jois, with a deep focus on yoga therapy for conditions like arthritis and insomnia. My research on pain and disability informs my gentle, therapeutic approach to the practice.
Here, you can see how I guide a student through a headstand, or sirsasana. My teaching style is about partnership and support, ensuring you feel safe and stable as you explore what your body can do. It is not about forcing a pose, but about finding the right alignment for you.
To truly vibrate higher, our practice must be holistic. This video shows the four pillars I integrate into my life and teachings: mantra chanting for inner peace, asana practice for physical wellbeing, high-prana food for energy, and associating with a positive community for spiritual upliftment.
This is me with my Guruji, Sharath Jois. My connection to the Ashtanga parampara, or lineage, is the source of my teachings. It is a privilege to carry forward this ancient wisdom and share it with my students.
Practicing backbends in nature helps open the heart center, or Anahata chakra. This sequence is not about how deep you can go, but about cultivating a feeling of acceptance for the present moment and embracing the changes life brings.
Observing Ekadashi is a sacred practice of inner cleansing. This video shows my simple ritual of preparing juice for the fast. It is a day for discipline, prayer, and purifying the mind and body, which is a core part of a holistic yogic lifestyle.
About Featured
I do not believe in one-size-fits-all routines. In our initial 90-minute diagnostic session, we will analyze your X-rays or medical reports, assess your spinal alignment, and look at your pulse to create a home practice chart tailored specifically to your body's recovery needs.
My approach to yoga therapy is rooted in the traditional Ashtanga lineage, but it is deeply practical. I am not looking for you to master complex poses immediately. Instead, we use movement, breathwork, and meditation to address specific concerns like chronic pain, insomnia, or prenatal support.
My Therapeutic Approach
Every body tells a story. Whether you are dealing with arthritis or simply need better sleep, we start by checking in with where you are on that given day. We use props like belts, blocks, and wall supports to ensure you can practice safely, regardless of your current mobility. This is a partnership. My role is to help you build a daily sadhana that you can do on your own, giving you the tools to manage your own health.
The HSR Layout Shala
My home shala in HSR Layout, Bengaluru, is designed to be an intimate space. Because I limit the number of students, I can provide the hands-on adjustments needed to ensure your form is correct and safe. We go through a structured process:
- Assessment: We start with a thorough medical review and posture analysis.
- Sequence Design: You receive a 20-30 minute custom home practice chart.
- Integration: We work on pranayama and chanting to help regulate your nervous system alongside the physical asanas.
This is not a quick fix. It is a slow, honest, and often demanding process of building awareness. If you are looking to understand your own body better and build a practice that supports you for the long term, let us start that conversation.
