Guided Yoga Adjustments & Partner Practice in Bengaluru
I use hands-on adjustments and partner work to help you discover safer movement patterns, built on trust and a deep understanding of your own body's limits.
Here, I am assisting a student in a gentle backbend, using my body to provide stable support. This allows her to open her chest and thoracic spine with a sense of security and trust.
Partner yoga is a wonderful tool for connection and support. In this pose, we work together to find balance and length, creating a shared experience that deepens the practice for both individuals.
I am also a student on this path. Here, I am receiving an adjustment in Vrischikasana, which reminds me of the importance of vulnerability and trusting your teacher, principles I carry into my own classes.
This moment from my teacher training shows a close-up of an assist. Learning the fine details of anatomy and support is crucial for a teacher, and it's this depth of knowledge I use to keep my students safe.
About Guided Adjustments & Partner Practice
When I offer hands-on adjustments, it is not to force you deeper into a stretch. I use the physical contact to help you map your own anatomy, so your brain learns where your limbs are in space. This is about building muscle memory so that, eventually, you do not need my guidance to find perfect alignment.
Yoga isn't just about how deep you can bend or how flexible your hamstrings are. It is a dialogue between your nervous system and your physical form.
Why Adjustments Matter
In my sessions, I use tactile cues—gentle physical pressure—to help you locate parts of your body that might feel 'lost' during a pose. Whether we are working on Kapotasana to open the thoracic spine or simply finding a stable base in Vinyasa, these adjustments are for safety and clarity. I have been through my own share of shoulder dislocations and ligament tears, so I know exactly what it feels like to mistrust your own body. My adjustments are designed to rebuild that trust.
The Role of Partner Practice
Partner yoga is a tool for connection and support, not just an acrobatic display. When we work with a partner, we use each other's weight to find length and balance that you cannot reach alone. It forces you to be present and vulnerable, relying on someone else to keep you stable while you explore your range of motion.
My Approach in Bengaluru
I teach out of Latibule Wellness in Malleshwaram and lead outdoor sessions at Cubbon Park. My practice is heavily rooted in Iyengar Yoga, which means we pay extreme attention to structural alignment. We use blocks, belts, and props to make sure that even if your body is healing from an injury, you can still experience the benefits of the pose without strain.
Breathe-connect-repeat. If you are ready to stop forcing your body and start listening to it, let's work together.
