About
Learning for me is all about samarpanam - it’s an offering, simple and honest. My workshops aren’t just about technique. It’s a space for artists and art lovers to meet, share stories, and lose themselves in the art. Like we say, aise naacho ki naach hi bache, urja reh jaaye (dance so only the dance and energy remain). You’ll find real community vibes here, not just a class.
What You’ll Experience
- Mohiniyattam masterclass: Dive deep into the graceful moves and expressive abhinaya with me and guest gurus. Lots of space for questions and trying out stuff, not just following steps.
- Lighting design for stage performances: Get hands-on with how lights shape your story on stage. It’s not just for dancers - choreographers, theatre people, musicians, all are welcome.
- Interactive dance workshop & jams: Sometimes we go ‘hatke’ (offbeat) - imagine Mohiniyattam with Ilayaraja’s music, or mixing dance with live instruments. These sessions are chill, experimental, and open to wild ideas.
- Intimate art talks: Hear from top artists and scholars, see how they think and work. No lectures, more conversation.
Who Can Join
You don’t need to be a pro. Mohiniyattam workshops are for students and practitioners, while technical and experimental sessions are open to anyone who’s curious about the stage.
Format & Community
Mostly in-person at our Bangalore kalari (studio), but some are hybrid so you can join online. Some events are free with wilful donations - it’s about growing the arts family, not gatekeeping.

My Work
Mohiniyattam & Carnatic Music Classes - We teach Mohiniyattam (Bharati Shivaji style) and Carnatic music—kids, adults, all are welcome in our Bangalore space.
Workshops & Anubhavam Series - We run the Anubhavam Series with guest artists, plus special dance workshops for anyone wanting to try something new.
Professional Dance Productions - We create and perform original productions—sometimes traditional, sometimes wild and new, always heartfelt.
Community & Collaboration - Join us, you’re family. We travel, rehearse, perform, and just hang out together. It’s all about the collective vibe.
