About Carnatic Vocal Music Classes
Why Music Feels Like Home Here
For us at Samarpana, Carnatic music isn't just notes and words. It's a heartfelt samarpanam, an offering. When you join, you’re not just a student—you're part of our music family. We learn, mess up, laugh, and grow together. Our classes are full of warmth, and honestly, the vibe is more like a big music adda (hangout) than a strict classroom.
For the Little Ones: Bindaas Kutti Team
Kids need fun to truly love music. That’s why our 'Bindaas Kutti' program is nothing like boring theory-heavy lessons. Here, children pick up Carnatic music for kids with energy, games, and lots of encouragement. Watching small kuttis (kids) bloom into bold performers is honestly the best feeling.
What You’ll Actually Do
- We start with beginner Carnatic singing lessons for all ages—no one left out
- Every learner gets to sing with live accompaniments, not just in theory but in real practice
- You’ll see how classical music and dance integration works, since we blend both in our approach
- Performing on stage (sometimes with our dance/music ensemble) is part of the journey, not just a distant goal
- We keep things rooted in tradition with pranams (respectful bows), but also make sure you feel at home
I’m not saying it’s always easy—sometimes there’s struggle, sometimes it’s pure magic. But if you want a place where music is lived, not just learned, this is it.

My Story
We’re Samarpana, not just a dance school, more like a big, slightly crazy family. Started off in Bangalore back in 2018, all of us—kids, seniors, everyone—just mad about dance and music. Our guru Vinaya chechi leads us, but really, it’s all of us together, laughing, learning, sometimes goofing up, but always giving our hearts to every step. Our first show, ‘Ashtalakshmi’, felt like magic. That’s what we chase—connection, joy, and that special spark.
My Work
Mohiniyattam & Carnatic Music Classes - We teach Mohiniyattam (Bharati Shivaji style) and Carnatic music—kids, adults, all are welcome in our Bangalore space.
Workshops & Anubhavam Series - We run the Anubhavam Series with guest artists, plus special dance workshops for anyone wanting to try something new.
Professional Dance Productions - We create and perform original productions—sometimes traditional, sometimes wild and new, always heartfelt.
Community & Collaboration - Join us, you’re family. We travel, rehearse, perform, and just hang out together. It’s all about the collective vibe.
