About Technical Arts for the Stage
In our technical sessions, we focus on the 'why' behind the production. Whether it is mastering stage lighting design to enhance a Mohiniyattam sequence or understanding the nuances of Talam for choreography, these workshops are hands-on. You will walk away with actionable skills you can use in your next production, not just abstract theory.
Our workshops are designed to bridge the gap between creative vision and technical execution. We believe that a dancer who understands the stage—the way light falls on a costume, the way sound fills a hall, or the way rhythm dictates movement—is a more empowered performer.
These sessions are part of our Anubhavam series, where we invite experts to break down complex production elements into simple, usable techniques.
What we cover:
- Lighting Design: We teach you how to use light to shape storytelling. It is not just about brightness; it is about mood, texture, and focus.
- Rhythm and Talam: Understanding the mathematical structure of rhythm helps choreographers create tighter, more impactful sequences.
- Stagecraft Essentials: From makeup techniques to understanding theatre spaces, we cover the nuts and bolts of putting on a show.
We keep our batches small to ensure everyone gets individual attention. Some sessions are hybrid, allowing you to join us from anywhere, though we always love having people at our Gottigere studio in Bangalore. These workshops are open to anyone curious about the stage—you do not need to be a professional to join our circle of learning.
