Our Philosophy: A Space to Unplug
We designed SAMA to be an antidote to the noise. Here, the goal is simple: disconnect from the screens, the data, and the chatter to reconnect with your own movement and breath.
I often get asked why I do not post more videos of classes online. My answer is simple: the real experience is here, in the real world. I encourage you to disconnect from screens and connect with your practice.
This is a core principle of our studio. By creating a device-free zone, we make space for genuine mindfulness and a much-needed digital detox, allowing you to be fully present.
I believe my classes are for you if you want to care for your mind as much as your body, prefer working out in person, and need a routine to help slow down your fast-paced life.
This quote from Sakyong Mipham perfectly captures our dual focus. We use movement to benefit the body and stillness to benefit the mind, creating a holistic practice.
Fitness here is never just physical. I teach that the mind and body are interconnected, and our practice is designed to strengthen them both in unison for holistic well-being.
The wellness world is recognizing the deep need for recovery, slowing down, and mindfulness. I have always held space for this calm, and I am glad to see it getting the attention it deserves.
I am happy to see wellness trends shifting toward more mindful and inclusive practices, like women embracing strength training. This has always been a core part of what we do at SAMA.
About this collection
When you walk through our doors, your first step is placing your phone in one of our secure lockers. We enforce this device-free policy not to be strict, but to protect your peace. It guarantees that the hour you spend in our studio is truly yours, free from the digital interruptions and notifications that follow you everywhere else.
Modern life keeps our brains in a constant state of high alert. We are always consuming, creating, or reacting, and rarely just being. At SAMA, we believe that fitness is incomplete if it only targets your body while leaving your mind fried from the daily digital grind.
Our philosophy is rooted in the contrast between the chaos of the outside world and the sanctuary we maintain inside. That is why you won’t find mirrors in our studios. Without them, you stop performing for a reflection and start focusing on how your body feels. You won’t find blaring music either, just enough sound to support your rhythm as you move, breathe, and eventually settle into stillness.
We focus on 'healthspan'—long-term well-being—over fleeting aesthetics. Whether you are here for Pilates, mindful strength, or a meditation session, the structure remains the same: a deliberate, guided transition from movement to deep, restorative quiet. It is not about silencing your thoughts, but rather creating enough stillness to let the noise settle. If you are looking for a space in Whitefield where you can step off the treadmill of your daily routine and actually recover, you belong here.
Sama
We started SAMA because we felt that most fitness spaces were adding to the noise, not taking it away. We are a team dedicated to making mental health as accessible as physical fitness, prioritizing stillness just as much as movement in every class we lead.
