Rest & Reset: The Calm Mind Practice in Whitefield

In our fast-paced lives, silence is a luxury. At SAMA, we use gentle aerial hammocks, guided breathwork, and mindful stillness to help you unplug, decompress, and finally let go.

If you feel overstimulated or overworked, my Nervous System Reset workshop is for you. I use the aerial hammock, calming lights, and guided meditation to create an environment for deep relaxation, helping to soothe not just your body, but your mind too.

I truly believe that brilliant things happen in calm minds. This is a quiet moment in the studio, where members are resting in their hammocks after a class. This stillness is where the real integration of mind and body happens.

The aerial hammock isn't just for active poses. It's a wonderful tool for our calm mind practices, like this aerial cocoon experience. Floating weightlessly helps the body release tension, leading to a blissful, restorative sleep-like state.

I also take my signature calm mind experiences outside the studio. Here, we guided participants into a state of mindful relaxation at a local arts festival, proving that you can find stillness even in the middle of a bustling city.

Here, our Program Director Meghna Verma shares her perspective on what a calm mind truly is. It's about achieving a state of inner silence and being free from the stress of overthinking, a core principle we cultivate in every class at SAMA.

About this collection

Our Cocoon Savasana isn't just a nap. You are fully wrapped in the silk hammock, which provides gentle, even pressure—similar to a weighted blanket—while the soft sway and guided meditation help lower your heart rate. It is the specific moment in our aerial classes where you move from active stretching to just being, making it the most effective way to switch off your nervous system after a long day.

Finding Stillness in Aerial Yoga

Many people associate aerial fitness with complex inversions and high-energy flows. At SAMA, we see the hammock differently: it is a tool for support and gravity-assisted release. Our Calm Mind Practice is designed for those who feel overstimulated by the constant chatter of the city and their digital devices.

Why Aerial for Relaxation?

The aerial hammock provides a sense of security. When you are suspended, your body naturally engages its core for stability, but when we move into a 'Cocoon Savasana,' that support shifts to total release. This feeling of weightlessness is often the only time during the week when our members feel truly disconnected from the ground and their daily worries. It is highly effective for spinal decompression and calming the parasympathetic nervous system, which is often neglected in standard high-intensity gym workouts.

Our Approach in Whitefield

We run our sessions from our studios in Hopefarm and Siddapura with a strict 'no phone' policy. We believe that true rest cannot happen if you are checking notifications between stretches.

Our classes include:

  • Cocoon Savasana: Guided meditation while floating, designed for deep mental integration.
  • Nervous System Reset Workshops: Longer sessions focusing on breathwork, aroma, and sound to soothe anxiety.
  • Beginner-Friendly Practice: You do not need to be flexible or have a background in fitness to participate. We guide you through the process, and the equipment handles the rest.

Whether you are a busy professional in Whitefield or someone looking to explore mindfulness beyond standard meditation, our doors are open. We invite you to step into the studio, leave the screen in your locker, and simply breathe.
