About Agility, Speed & Foundational Drills

When we run agility ladder drills, I tell my athletes to ignore the noise and focus on one thing: ground contact time. It is not about how fast your feet move; it is about how efficiently you push off. If you watch the footage, you will see we prioritize precision in every step, because that is where the speed is actually made.

At my core, I believe athleticism is a skill that can be built, but only with patience. These Agility, Speed & Foundational Drills are the backbone of my program. Whether you are prepping for the Khelo India games or just looking to improve your running mechanics, we start here.

The Tools of the Trade

We don't overcomplicate it. Speed ladders, mini hurdles, and resistance bands are my primary tools. A ladder is not just a plastic frame; it is a tool to rewire how your brain communicates with your feet. Resistance bands force you to engage your glutes and core, building the strength needed to explode from a static position.

My Training Philosophy

I see too many athletes rushing into heavy lifting before they can control their own body weight. My method is different: mastery of movement comes first. We practice these drills until they are muscle memory. You won't find flashy gimmicks here—just consistent, grueling practice on the synthetic track.

Why it Works

Speed is a consequence of proper mechanics. By training your reaction time through whistle-based drills and sharpening your coordination with cone zig-zags, we minimize the gap between your intent and your action. This is the 'mehnat' [hard work] I talk about—the repetitive, focused work that pays off on race day.

We run these sessions across major Mumbai tracks, working in both group settings for that competitive, team-driven environment and 1-on-1 for athletes who need that extra level of technical video analysis. We train through the humidity and the heat, because race day conditions won't be perfect, and your preparation shouldn't be either. You bring the dedication, and I will bring the expertise.
