Ghazal & Light Music Performances for Intimate Gatherings

When planning a ghazal session, remember that venue acoustics matter as much as the performance. Since these are meant to be intimate, a space that is not too large or echoey works best to keep the lyrics and emotions clear for your guests. I usually perform solo with an electronic tanpura or backing track, so we do not need a massive stage setup, just a comfortable space where everyone can sit close and listen.

Ghazals are all about the poetry and the feeling behind the words. My sessions are designed for listeners who want to sit, relax, and soak in the music. I do not just sing, I explain the meaning of the lyrics (Sahitya) in both English and Kannada so that everyone in the room connects with the song.

What to expect

• Genre Mix: I perform a blend of Dasara Padas, Abhangs, and light classical ghazals. If you have specific AR Rahman hits or film songs you love, I can weave those in too.
• Setup: For these 90-minute sessions, I keep the audio levels controlled to suit living rooms, private halls, or temple spaces. It is a solo performance, which keeps the focus entirely on the music and the interaction with you and your guests.
• The Vibe: My goal is to make it feel less like a formal concert and more like a gathering of friends sharing a beautiful evening. Whether it is a private pooja or a small corporate event, the focus remains on capturing that delicate, poetic mood that makes ghazals so timeless.
