An intimate mehfil session, getting lost in the music with my band. This is the 'sukoon' of Sufi, where every note is a prayer, perfect for private gatherings where the vibe is everything.
A beautiful qawwali session with my full band, including tabla and harmonium. This is 'Tere Bina Na Guzara E', a song that touches the heart.
Here's a unique take on a classic. We reinterpreted 'Chaiyya Chaiyya' in a Sufi style during one of our mehfils, and the result was pure magic.

About Soulful Sufi & Ghazal Mehfils
For these intimate mehfils, I bring a 4-5 piece acoustic band—tabla, cajon, guitar, and flute—to keep the sound pure and soulful. We don't just play songs; we create a space for conversation and connection, often weaving in shayari (poetry) between tracks to match the mood of your gathering.
The Soul of a Mehfil
When we perform a Sufi or Ghazal set, the atmosphere changes. It is not about loud amplification or high-tempo beats; it is about the poetry and the emotion behind every note. Whether you are hosting a Roka ceremony, a Mehndi function, or a quiet corporate dinner, my band and I focus on creating a serene, immersive environment.
My Acoustic Approach
My style, which I call Andaaz-e-Raman, relies on a tight-knit ensemble. Because we prioritize clarity and emotional delivery, we keep our setup compact. You get a live sound that feels personal and direct, rather than a massive concert stage that feels distant. The instrumentation includes tabla or cajon for rhythmic depth, acoustic guitar for melody, and flute or violin for that haunting, classical touch.
What to Expect
- Interactive Engagement: I love chatting with the audience. I take requests and share stories behind the songs and couplets.
- Authentic Sound: We perform in a way that respects the traditional qawwali and ghazal structures while giving them a fresh, modern energy.
- Curated Repertoire: From classic Sufi kalams to retro Bollywood love songs, we build a setlist that flows with the mood of your guests.
Requirements for Your Event
To ensure we maintain this quality, we do have a few technical needs. While we bring our own instruments, we require a professional PA and monitor system to be provided at the venue. A small, elevated stage (minimum 12ft x 10ft) is also ideal so that the band is visible and the sound carries perfectly across the room. We are based in Delhi NCR but are happy to travel across India to perform at your celebration.
Raman Kapoor
Music is my heartbeat and my prayer. My Ustaad ji taught me that a true artist connects with the soul, not just the ears. When I am on stage with my band, we are simply sharing a moment of sukoon (peace) with you.
