About Group Parties & Celebrations
You do not need an artistic bone in your body to have a great time here. Whether it is a birthday, an anniversary, or just a random Saturday with friends, we set up a private event where everyone leaves with their own creation. It is low-pressure, genuinely relaxing, and I handle the technical side—firing and glazing your pieces so they are food-safe and ready to use a few weeks later.
Why Choose Pottery for Your Celebration?
Pottery is a quiet, mindful way to connect with the people you care about. When you book a group session at my studio in Bandra, you are not just sitting around; you are engaging with clay, learning a new skill, and sharing plenty of laughs. It is a fantastic change of pace from the typical social outing, offering a creative break in a studio filled with natural light and greenery.
What to Expect
We cater to groups of 4 or more, making it an intimate experience rather than a crowded class.
- Hand-building Workshops: This is our most popular format for groups. We use pinch, coil, and slab techniques to build everything from mugs and bowls to decorative wall art. No wheel is involved, which makes it perfect for beginners to get comfortable quickly.
- Wheel Throwing & Specialty Art: For smaller groups wanting to try the wheel, we offer focused sessions on centering and pulling walls. Alternatively, we can explore Nerikomi (marbled clay) or plate painting.
The Practical Stuff
I want your experience to be stress-free from start to finish. Everything you make is yours to keep, but it requires a bit of magic behind the scenes. Once your group leaves, I personally trim, dry, and fire your pieces in the kiln at high temperatures to ensure they are durable and waterproof. Your finished, food-safe ceramics will be ready for collection at the studio in about 4 weeks.
We provide aprons and all the tools you need—just bring your enthusiasm and maybe a spare pair of clothes if you tend to get really messy! Whether you are a family group looking for a creative afternoon or friends planning a unique birthday party, my goal is for you to walk away with a souvenir you actually made yourself.
The Pottery Lab
Hi, I am Rekha. After 26 years with clay, I opened The Pottery Lab in Bandra to create an escape from the city rush. My studio is about slowing down, and I love hosting groups who walk in nervous and leave laughing with their own handmade creations.
