About Workshop Schedule & How to Join
I keep my sessions intimate so I can guide you through every pinch, coil, or wheel throw personally. Everything you need is included in the fee, from the raw clay and tools to the technical glazing and final kiln firing, so you can just focus on the creative process.
Pottery is much more than making a bowl or a cup. In my Pali Hill studio, it is about the quiet process of giving form to your ideas. You do not need to have an artistic bone in your body to join; my workshops are built for people who want to step away from the chaos of Mumbai and do something with their hands.
What to Expect
Whether you choose a hand-building workshop where we explore pinch, coil, and slab methods, or a wheel-throwing session, you get dedicated instruction. We keep group sizes small, which means I can give you the physical support needed for centering clay on the wheel or help you refine your hand-building technique.
The Process
After you make your piece, the work is not quite finished. I take over the technical side, ensuring your work goes through the drying, trimming, and two rounds of kiln firing needed to make it food-safe and permanent. Because this process is careful and deliberate, your finished masterpieces will be ready for collection in about 4 weeks. This gives you a reason to come back to the neighborhood, perhaps grab a coffee at one of the cafes nearby on Pali Hill, and pick up your creation.
How to Join
I host regular sessions throughout the week, including Friday afternoon workshops and Saturday Nerikomi or wheel classes. Since I run these as intimate, small-group experiences, spots are limited. You can check the current schedule below, pick a session that suits your pace, and reach out to book your place.
The Pottery Lab
I am Rekha Goyal. I have been playing with clay for 26 years, and my studio in Pali Hill is my little green escape from the Mumbai chaos. I love watching people walk in a bit nervous, only to leave grinning with their own creation.
