Pottery Workshops and Creative Experiences
Welcome to my green escape in Pali Hill. Whether you want to slow down, get messy with friends, or finally learn the wheel, I am here to guide you through the process of working with clay.
This is the moment it all clicks. The laughter, the focus, and the feeling of clay spinning under your hands. I love guiding people through their first time on the pottery wheel and seeing the joy it brings.
There's nothing better than celebrating a special day by creating something together. Here's a wonderful group celebrating a birthday, proudly showing off the beautiful plates they hand-built from scratch.
Just look at the beautiful, vibrant results from our plate painting and glazing workshop. Everyone brings their own unique style, and I'll guide you in creating a food-safe piece you can use and cherish for years.
My studio is a little green oasis, a place to slow down and connect with nature and your own creativity. I wanted to create a space that feels like a true escape, filled with sunlight and the quiet sounds of the garden.
Exploring the Japanese Nerikomi technique is always a highlight. It involves creating intricate patterns with colored clay, and the results are always a beautiful surprise. It's a meditative process of construction and design.
Pottery is a fantastic team building activity that gets colleagues out of the office and into a creative flow. This team spent an afternoon with us, collaborating, laughing, and making their own unique ceramic pieces.
This is what it's all about for me. Building a community, sharing stories over coffee, and squeezing in some pottery too. These sessions are filled with so much warmth and creativity.
Here’s a little peek behind the scenes. From teaching the workshop and guiding your hands, to carefully glazing and firing your work, every step is done with care so you can take home a piece you're proud of.
About Featured
You do not need a creative bone in your body to start. In my studio, we believe the process matters more than the output. Whether you choose to try the pottery wheel or enjoy hand-building, I guide you step-by-step so you walk away with something you have made yourself, even if it is your first time touching clay.
Pottery is for everyone, and my studio in Bandra is a space designed to help you disconnect from the chaos of Mumbai. When you step into our studio in Pali Hill, the focus shifts entirely to the clay, the wheel, and the simple joy of creating.
We offer a range of experiences tailored to different interests. If you want to dive into the rhythm of the wheel, I teach the basics of centering and pulling walls. For those who prefer a tactile, slow approach, we explore hand-building techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab work. We also offer advanced sessions in Nerikomi, which uses colored clay to create stunning, marbled patterns.
What often surprises people is that this is not just about the two hours you spend here. I personally handle the technical side of things, including the drying, trimming, and the two rounds of firing in our electric kiln. This ensures that your pieces are not just art, but functional, food-safe, and microwave-safe ceramics that you can actually use at home.
Whether you are planning a unique birthday party, a corporate team building event, or just looking for a solo hobby to destress, my goal is the same: to create a welcoming community where you feel comfortable to experiment. You come in, get a little messy, laugh, and leave with a piece of work you are proud to keep or gift. Come see why so many have spun their stories on our wheels.
The Pottery Lab
I am Rekha Goyal. I have been playing with clay for 26 years, and my studio in Bandra is my quiet escape from the city. I love seeing people walk in nervous and leave with a huge grin after creating their own masterpiece.
