Authentic Hatha Yoga and Philosophy in Koramangala
We are not here for vanity or flashy poses. Nirakula Yoga treats practice as a rigorous discipline, blending physical Hatha intensity with philosophical depth.
I believe in the power of dedicated practice to build strength, balance, and grace. Here, I am demonstrating Natarajasana, or Lord of the Dance Pose, a deep backbend that requires focus and stability, reflecting the core principles of our Hatha yoga classes.
My teaching philosophy is centered on providing direct, hands-on guidance to ensure you practice safely and effectively. In this photo, I am assisting a student to deepen her seated twist, helping her find the correct alignment in Purna Ardha Matsyendrasana to maximize the posture's benefits.
We extensively use props to make even the most advanced postures accessible and safe. This student is using our wall ropes to work on Samakonasana, or the center split, which builds incredible hip flexibility and control in a supported manner.
Our group classes are filled with dedicated practitioners of all levels, building strength and discipline together. This video shows a class moving through Chakrasana, or Wheel Pose, a powerful backbend that opens the heart and energizes the entire body.
Advanced asanas are a journey of strength and concentration, and I guide you through every step. This demonstration of Urdhva Kukkutasana, or Upward Rooster Pose, shows the transition from a tripod headstand into a complex arm balance, a sequence we break down in our advanced workshops.
Yoga is a journey of steady progress, not instant perfection. This collage shows a student's three year journey with Vasisthasana, or Side Plank, from foundational variations to the full expression of the pose, highlighting the resilience and strength gained over time.
Yoga is more than physical postures; it is a science of life rooted in ancient wisdom. In my online sessions, I deconstruct texts like the Panchatantra to explore principles of leadership, self-control, and wisdom, connecting them to our modern lives and yoga practice.
About this collection
We don't just demonstrate; we teach. In every session, you receive direct, hands-on adjustments to ensure safety and depth. We use wall ropes, bolsters, and chairs as precision tools, not crutches, allowing you to access ranges of motion and spinal traction that standard mat practice cannot provide.
Beyond the Mat
Our studio in Koramangala is built for those who understand that Yoga is a science of life, not just a series of exercises. Whether you are joining our daily Hatha groups, working on advanced inversions in our workshops, or diving into our 200-hour Teacher Training, the focus remains the same: Indriya-jaya, or control over the senses.
The Role of Alignment
We practice with a strong Iyengar influence. Why? Because alignment is the bridge between the physical body and mental clarity. We do not rush through flows. Instead, we use props like the Yoga Kurunta (wall ropes) to deconstruct complex postures like Chakrasana or Purna Ardha Matsyendrasana. This allows students of all levels to safely build strength and spinal flexibility without the risk of injury.
Theoretical Depth
Yoga at Nirakula is inseparable from its history. We integrate chanting, mantra study, and the wisdom of texts like the Panchatantra into our practice. This isn't just about bending your body; it's about building the discipline to govern your own mind. If you are looking for a studio that challenges you to think as deeply as you sweat, you have found the right place.
Nirakula Yoga
I teach Hatha and Vinyasa flow with an unwavering focus on alignment and theory. My classes are hands-on, meaning I will be correcting your form, not just demoing from the front of the room. I expect commitment, and in return, I offer a path to genuine physical and mental stability.
