Become a Yoga Teacher: 200-Hour TTC in Koramangala
The mat is not for showing off; it is for building a foundation. Our 200-hour Teacher Training Course is an immersive study of Hatha Yoga, designed for those ready to move beyond personal practice into the art of guiding others.
Our TTC students learn by doing, including teaching each other in the classroom. This collaborative process deepens their understanding of anatomy, adjustments, and the nuances of guiding a class, empowering them to become confident teachers.
Our TTC students practice classical Surya Namaskara with mantra chanting. This integration of movement, breath, and sound is a core element of our training, teaching the meditative and devotional aspects of the sun salutation.
TTC students practice a partner version of Sirsasana (Headstand). This exercise builds trust, communication, and a deeper understanding of the alignment and balance required for the inversion.
Students in our TTC program practice Baddha Hasta Sirsasana variations. This bound-hand headstand challenges their balance and strength, and practicing together fosters a supportive learning environment.
A TTC student works on Eka Pada Rajakapotasana, both with and without props. Our training emphasizes learning how to use props like straps to safely progress into advanced postures.
About this collection
Many come in thinking a TTC is about perfecting a handstand. It is not. You will spend as much time on the floor studying adjustments and human anatomy as you will on the mat. We teach you how to troubleshoot a student’s posture using props like wall ropes and bolsters, so you understand the mechanics of the body before you ever try to guide another person through a sequence.
Beyond the Posture: A Scholarly Approach
Most training programs teach you how to sequence a class. We teach you how to read a body. Our TTC is rooted in the science of Hatha Yoga, where the asana is merely the starting point. You will dive into pranayama (breath control), shatkarmas (cleansing), and the ancient philosophical texts that define why we practice in the first place.
The Curriculum
- Alignment & Mechanics: We do not rely on verbal cues alone. You will learn to provide hands-on adjustments using the Iyengar-influenced prop method—ropes, chairs, and blocks—to ensure safety and accessibility for all body types.
- Anatomy & Physiology: Understanding the 'why' behind the pose is critical for any teacher. We break down the muscular and skeletal engagement of every posture.
- Philosophy & Methodology: We examine the texts to bring wisdom into modern teaching. You will learn how to hold space for students, guide meditation, and integrate classical mantras into your classes.
Why Train at Nirakula?
This course is for the serious practitioner who wants to teach with integrity. You are not learning a pre-written routine; you are learning to observe, adapt, and instruct. Whether you plan to teach full-time or simply want to deepen your own practice, this 200-hour journey is about cultivating the 'vidvatvam' (scholarship) required to pass on this knowledge safely. We are located in the heart of Koramangala and keep our cohorts small to ensure you receive individual feedback throughout the training.
Nirakula Yoga
At Nirakula, we do not treat yoga as a fitness trend; we treat it as a science. My teacher training is not designed to inflate your resume with a certificate. It is built to dismantle your misconceptions and rebuild your practice from the ground up, starting with deep alignment and ending with philosophy that makes sense in the real world.
