Yoga for every body: Finding your flow
Yoga is not about nailing a perfect pose, it is about showing up for yourself. Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to deepen your practice, we find your flow together.
This is what it's all about. Finding your strength, your balance, and your peace, wherever you are. This student's journey to a strong, confident headstand on the beach captures the transformative power of a consistent practice.
Yoga is for every single body. This short video demonstrates how we use a simple chair to make yoga accessible, whether you're a senior, working at a desk, or recovering from an injury. We adapt the practice to fit you.
There's a unique energy that comes from practicing together. This moment captures the shared focus and support within our community, as we work on opening our shoulders and hearts in Paschima Namaskarasana, the reverse prayer pose.
Supporting mothers through every stage is a vital part of my work. This beautiful moment between a student and her baby highlights our prenatal and postnatal yoga offerings, focusing on strength, recovery, and connection.
Yoga is a dance between strength and surrender. This video shows a dynamic and playful flow in and out of Sirsasana, or headstand, demonstrating the focus and core control we build in our more advanced classes.
One of the most rewarding parts of my work is seeing students find relief from pain. This client's journey from chronic back pain to a pain-free life through yoga is a powerful reminder of the practice's healing potential.
Every journey begins with a single step. My 'Begin Yoga' class is a welcoming space designed specifically for newcomers or those returning to the mat, where we build a strong and safe foundation together.
Our practice can take us to incredible places, both internally and externally. This photo from one of our yoga retreats in Bhutan shows the adventurous side of yoga, combining practice with the beauty of nature.
About Featured
Whether you join me on a mat at home or in our Bangalore studio, my classes focus on alignment over aesthetics. We do not just hold poses, we link breath to movement. You will find props, modifications, and gentle adjustments in every session, so you can practice safely even if you are working with an injury, limited mobility, or are just getting back into a routine.
Your Practice, Your Pace
At Nikaya, I believe yoga should meet you exactly where you are today. If you are new to the mat, we start with the foundations. If you are ready for a challenge, we explore flow and inversions. My goal is to build a sustainable practice that you can carry off the mat and into your daily life.
How We Practice
- Online Studio: Join live Zoom batches from anywhere. If you miss a session, you get access to the recording for 48 hours. We focus on real-time verbal cues to help you feel the alignment even through a screen.
- In-Person (Bangalore): We hold small group classes at premium locations like St. Marks Road. These sessions are capped at 12 students, allowing me to provide tactile adjustments and ensure your practice is safe and effective.
- Private & Therapeutic: For those needing specific care—like prenatal support, sciatica relief, or injury recovery—we create a tailored program that evolves with your progress.
Why Props Are Essential
I often use blocks, straps, and chairs in class. These are not 'crutches' for people who can't do the pose; they are tools to help you find the correct alignment. Whether you are a senior practicing chair yoga or an athlete working on flexibility, props make the practice accessible and sustainable.
The Nikaya Approach
We blend Hatha, Vinyasa, and Restorative techniques. Every 60-minute session integrates pranayama and meditation. It is about quietening the noise, finding your edge, and being kind to yourself along the way.
Nikaya Yoga
I am Namrata. For me, yoga is a sacred space to silence the noise and reconnect with my body. At Nikaya, we do not chase perfection. We just show up, breathe, and explore what our bodies need today.
