My Yoga Approach: Start Where You Are
Welcome to my rooftop studio. I teach a blend of Hatha and Vinyasa designed for real bodies—stiff, stressed, or just starting out. No judgment, just space to move and breathe.
I often hear, "I'm not flexible enough for yoga." Let me tell you a secret: I couldn't touch my toes when I started either. Yoga isn't about being perfect; it's about showing up for yourself. This practice helped me manage my own anxiety and find peace, and I know it can help you too.
There's a special energy when we practice together. In my group classes, you'll find a supportive community where we learn, evolve, and transform. I'm always there to guide you, ensuring you feel safe and motivated.
Can't make it to the studio? My online classes bring the practice to you. You get the same individual attention and clear instruction from the comfort of your own home, plus recordings to practice anytime.
I'd love for you to join my next batch. Whether you choose the in-studio classes in Malleshwaram or join online, we'll build a routine that leaves you feeling grounded and energized. Spots are limited to keep our groups small and personal.
If you spend your day at a desk, your body holds that stress. This short sequence, featuring poses like Setubandhasana (Bridge Pose) and Marjariasana (Cat-Cow), is perfect for releasing tension from your back and shoulders after a long day.
Feeling weak or stiff is the perfect reason to start yoga, not a reason to avoid it. We use props like blocks to support your body as you build foundational strength and flexibility safely, one pose at a time.
Ever wonder what a 60-minute class with me looks like? I structure every session with a clear beginning, middle, and end, blending Hatha and Vinyasa styles. We always start with warm-ups, move into our main sequence, and finish with a cool-down and Shavasana.
About this collection
I often hear, 'I am not flexible enough for yoga,' but I actually couldn't touch my toes when I first started. My classes are designed to prove that you do not start yoga to be flexible, you start to become it. We use props like cork blocks and cotton straps in every session to bridge that gap, ensuring you feel supported, safe, and physically steady from day one.
A Practice That Fits Your Life
Yoga can feel intimidating, especially when you are new to it or dealing with a stiff body from a desk job. At my studio in Malleshwaram, I focus on the basics of Hatha and Vinyasa—meaning we combine held postures with steady movement synced to your breath. We do not chase perfect poses; we chase progress.
What You Can Expect
My classes are small—capped at 12 students—because I believe in quality over quantity. This allows me to give you hands-on alignment corrections so you learn to move safely. Whether you join me in the studio or online, here is how we break down our 60-minute sessions:
- Centering & Warm-ups: We begin by opening up the joints and waking up the muscles.
- Spine & Hips: We move through flows designed to release the tension that builds up from sitting all day.
- Foundational Flows: We integrate poses like Trikonasana (Triangle Pose) and Warrior variations to build actual strength.
- Cool-down: We finish with Shavasana and breathwork to ensure you leave feeling calm, not drained.
Why the Rooftop?
I intentionally set up my studio to be a semi-open, green space. The fresh air and natural environment help shift your nervous system out of 'stress mode' the moment you step onto the mat. It is not an AC-cooled gym, and that is by design. We focus on natural ventilation, simple props, and community. If you have been feeling weak, stiff, or just need a way to manage anxiety, this is a space where you can show up exactly as you are.
Gowri
I'm Gowri, and I started Mudra Yoga to make this practice real, not perfect. We move, we breathe, and we occasionally have my dogs join us on the mat, all while focusing on your alignment and your peace of mind.
