About this collection
When you book a live ensemble for your event, you are not just getting music; you are getting a mandatory 45-minute technical sound check. This process is essential to ensure that the acoustics of your venue are tuned perfectly, allowing the interplay between the Nattuvangam and the dancer to remain sharp and balanced throughout the entire performance.
There is a distinct difference between dancing to a recorded track and performing with a live orchestra. In the Thanjavur Bani tradition that I follow, the dance is a conversation between the performer and the musicians. My ensemble includes a professional vocalist, Mridangam artist, flute player, and Nattuvangam conductor—all skilled in the nuances of classical Bharatanatyam.
Why Choose Live Music?
Recorded audio can provide rhythm, but it cannot breathe with you. A live Carnatic ensemble allows for spontaneous adaptation. If a movement requires a slight extension or a faster tempo to match the energy of the audience, the orchestra is right there with you. It brings the authenticity of a traditional Sabha experience to your venue, whether it is a private wedding function or a public concert.
Ensemble Composition
My team is based in namma Bengaluru and consists of seasoned artists who understand the demands of a 60 to 90-minute Margam repertoire. We bring our own expertise in rhythmic structure and raga, ensuring that items like a Thillana or a complex Padam are delivered with the correct emotional depth.
Practical Logistics
We handle the coordination for the 4-piece ensemble, including travel within Bengaluru. Because we focus on the traditional structure, we require a standard stage setup with appropriate sound equipment. The pre-event sound check is non-negotiable for us, as it is the only way to guarantee that the percussion and vocal layers are heard clearly by your guests, free from feedback or echo issues.
Navyashree K N
I am Navyashree, and for me, a Bharatanatyam recital is incomplete without the organic conversation between dancer and orchestra. Performing with a live ensemble is a tradition I uphold with my team from namma Bengaluru, ensuring that every beat and bhava resonates exactly as intended.
