What Dance Means to Me
Dance goes beyond just steps and music for me - it's a way to connect with something bigger and share that feeling with everyone watching. Each time I perform, it's with the blessings of my Guru, Sri. P Praveen Kumar. My hope is that the devotion and stories I feel on stage reach you too.
What I Offer
- Solo Bharatanatyam recitals with strong themes, like journeys to Tirumala (VENKATESHA SHREESHA), explorations of Lord Shiva (SHIVAANTARAGAM), or the emotional world of the Nayika in love and longing (MAANINI).
- Pieces based on timeless stories, like Radha searching for Krishna from the Gita Govinda.
- If you love the traditional, I do the full Margam repertoire - the classic structure every serious rasika (connoisseur) looks for.
- For bigger events, I also perform with the Chithkala Ensemble as part of larger group productions.
Music Makes it Real
Every show is accompanied by a live Carnatic orchestra - vocals, mridangam, flute, and nattuvangam bring a vibe that recorded tracks just can't match. Most of my team is from namma Bengaluru (our Bengaluru).
Dance, the Way It's Meant to Be
All choreography is from my Guru and follows the Thanjavur Bani - lots of grace, detail, and rooted in tradition. I might tweak small things for a venue or audience, but I never lose the original essence.
Where You’ll Find Me
Based in Bengaluru, but I travel for festivals and sabhas everywhere - Chennai, Trivandrum, Coimbatore, Mangaluru, and abroad too. If you want a performance that stays true to the art, let’s make it happen.

My Story
Namaskaram! I’m Navyashree. My world is Bharatanatyam, music, yoga—everything that makes me feel alive and connected. I owe so much to my Guru, Sri P Praveen Kumar. His blessings guide me, always. Dance for me is bhakti, not just art. Directing Bharathadyuthi, I help students with their Rangabhivandane (stage debut). Digging into stories, like how Balaji got his name, and bringing them alive on stage with musicians from namma Bengaluru—that’s my bliss.

Bharatanatyam Performances & Instruction - I offer solo and group Bharatanatyam shows, plus mentorship and dance classes at Bharathadyuthi.
Guru Parampara & Mentorship - My dance follows the lineage of Sri P Praveen Kumar. I guide students through their own Rangabhivandane stage debut.
Thematic Solo Recitals - I create researched solo acts—like Venkatesha Shreesha thematic recital—mixing storytelling and choreography.
