Welcome to the World of Mitti Space
Come breathe and play with clay in the heart of Khar West. Whether you are curious about your first spin on the wheel or looking for a calm space to craft, my studio is a home for every kind of creative journey.
Welcome to Mitti Space. Here, we slow down, get our hands messy, and find joy in the simple act of making. This is a little glimpse into our everyday, a place filled with laughter, learning, and the quiet hum of the potter's wheel.
This is the beautiful result of just letting go and playing with clay. I love seeing the pride and happiness on a student's face when they see all their creations from the beginner's course laid out. Each piece tells a story of their unique journey.
There is something so magical about the potter's wheel. It’s a dance between your hands and the mitti. Here, I am guiding a student through the collaring process, gently shaping the clay upwards and inwards. It’s all about listening to the clay and not forcing it.
This octopus vase is a piece of my heart. It started as a simple wheel-thrown form, and then I spent hours sculpting each tentacle, giving it life and movement. This is what I love about hand-building, the slowness and the storytelling.
Our 'A Date with Mitti' sessions are for anyone looking to connect and create together. It’s not about perfection, but about sharing a quiet, creative evening, making memories with your hands covered in clay. It’s one of my favorite things to host in the studio.
The Nerikomi technique is like painting with colored clay. This stunning piece, with its wavy lines and bold checks, was made by an advanced student. It shows how you can develop your own unique style once you master the basics.
This is where the learning happens. I guide each student, helping them feel the movement of the clay on the wheel. It’s a partnership, and my goal is to help you find your own rhythm and confidence.
This isn't a distant planet, but a close-up of glaze under a microscope. The kiln creates these tiny, magical universes on every piece. It’s a beautiful reminder of the chemistry and wonder hidden within pottery.
And this is Silky, our studio's furry zen master. He brings so much calm and joy to the space, often supervising classes from his favorite spot on the table. He is a beloved part of the Mitti family.
A look back at four years of Mitti Space. From a small dream to a bustling community, this studio has been shaped by every person who has walked through its doors. I am so grateful for this journey and for everyone who has been a part of it.
About Featured
When you start, the biggest decision is choosing between the meditative pace of hand-building or the focused energy of the wheel. I always recommend beginners start with a one-time session to feel how the clay behaves under your fingers, as the experience is completely different depending on the technique you pick.
Mitti Space started as a tiny corner for my own experiments, but it quickly grew into something much bigger. It is a home for anyone who needs a break from screens and the rush of Mumbai life. You do not need to be an expert here. Most students walk through the doors with zero experience and end up finding a rhythm that is uniquely theirs.
I teach in a way that respects your natural pace. Whether we are exploring hand-building techniques like coiling and pinching or learning to center clay on the wheel, I guide you to find your own expression rather than forcing a specific aesthetic. The studio is a sanctuary, shared with our resident cats, Silky and Laila, who are almost always lounging nearby to keep us grounded.
We offer everything from one-time experience sessions and date nights to comprehensive 10-session courses for those ready to dive deep into ceramics. All tools are provided, and the firing is handled by us, so you can focus entirely on the act of creating. Come join our circle, get a little messy, and see what you can make when you just let go.
Mitti Space
I am Kosha. After years in design and photography, clay found me, and I never looked back. I started this space to share the quiet magic of pottery, where the only goal is to create, connect, and enjoy the slow, messy journey with you.
