About Self-Defense & Martial Arts Fitness
What to Expect
This isn't a regular gym class - it's Taekwondo, the way we do it at Kim's. Here, I mix tough fitness drills with classic martial arts. You’ll get strong, fast, and flexible, but you’ll also pick up real-life self-defense moves.
How We Train
- We start by building up your body. Strength and power? Loads of pull-ups, push-ups, and even wall handstands. For speed and sharpness, I’ll have you running agility ladders and cones till you move like lightning.
- Flexibility is huge here. I push everyone to work towards splits and backbends. It’s tough, but your kicks will thank you.
- Once you’re fit, we work on skill. You’ll be hitting pads, working with a training dummy, and learning how to control your strikes.
- We do actual sparring (kyorugi) too. Don’t worry, it’s safe - but you’ll feel the adrenaline. And yes, you’ll break boards (gyeokpa) for real, not just for show.
Who Can Join?
Anyone, really. Kids, teens, adults - doesn’t matter if you’ve never done a push-up. All you need is the guts to stick with it.
The Real Deal
This isn’t a hangout spot. We work hard, sweat buckets, and I promise - you’ll see the change. If you want a serious martial arts body conditioning class, or practical self-defense classes that push you, this is it. Ready? Junbi! (Get ready!)

My Story
We are Kim's Taekwondo Academy. Walk into our dojang and you’ll spot India and Korea flags - respect, always. Discipline is our thing, from tiny kids wobbling through their first kick to black belts sweating for medals. I see students start out shy, scared to jump, but day by day, with 'Kick hard, okay!' and 'Jump high!' they get stronger. The best part? Watching them stand tall, eyes full of confidence. That’s Taekwondo.
