Kyorugi Sparring & Combat Training
Sparring is where technique meets reality. Build your reflexes and strategy in a safe, controlled environment.
My youngest students geared up for a controlled sparring session. I am instructing them on proper stance and movement before they begin, emphasizing safety and technique over aggression.
Students engage in a light sparring drill, practicing their kicks and blocks. This is not about winning, but about learning to react and apply techniques under pressure.
About Sparring Practice: Kyorugi
We use full Daedo electronic body protectors during every session. This lets you strike with real intensity while staying safe. You are not here to brawl—you are here to learn distance, timing, and how to execute a roundhouse kick under pressure.
The Discipline of Sparring
Kyorugi is not just about kicking; it is about thinking under pressure. In my dojang, we follow the traditional Korean method where respect for your partner is paramount. You start with footwork drills, learning how to shift your weight and maintain your guard. Only when your balance is solid do we allow you to spar.
Safety First, Always
I treat safety as a non-negotiable rule. Whether you are a beginner or a black belt, you must wear your hogu (chest guard), headgear, and protective gear. We use Daedo electronic body protectors that track your impact, giving you instant feedback on whether your kick was landing with the right force and accuracy. This prevents injury and keeps the focus on precision rather than brute force.
What You Will Learn
- Distance Management: Learning when to strike and when to retreat.
- Reaction Time: Drills that force you to block and counter without thinking.
- Strategy: How to set up an opponent and control the flow of the match.
We train in a dedicated space with 25mm interlocking EVA mats, ensuring your knees and ankles are protected even during intense sessions. If you are in HRBR Layout or anywhere in Banaswadi and want to learn how to fight with intelligence, bring your focus. Charyeot (Attention), Gyeongnye (Bow), and let us begin.
