Kathak is more than just dance. It is a sacred lineage passed down from my Guru and mother, Smt. Radhika Sathe. Join me to explore the deep, rhythmic connection between teacher and student.

A beautiful portrait of my Aai (mother) and Guru, Smt. Radhika Sathe, capturing her grace and expressive artistry on stage. Her dedication is a constant source of inspiration for me.

My mother addressing the audience. She is not just a phenomenal dancer but also an articulate speaker who shares the depth and philosophy of Kathak with so much clarity and passion.

A moment of prayer and devotion. This is how we begin our practice, seeking blessings from our Gurus and the divine. This picture captures the spiritual foundation of our art form.

My mother in a classic Jaipur Gharana pose. Her performance is a masterclass in grace, strength, and the authentic traditions passed down through our lineage.

A candid moment between my mother and another esteemed artist backstage. The world of classical arts is a close-knit community built on mutual respect and shared passion.

Gurus are the ones who guide us across lifetimes. This video is a tribute to my Gurus, Guru Smt Radhika Sathe and Guru Pt. Rajendra Gangani ji, who are the reason I exist as a dancer today.

About Our Guru-Shishya Parampara

Learning Kathak within the Guru-Shishya Parampara means moving beyond generic tutorials. When you join my classes, you enter a lineage that values 'sadhana' or dedicated practice over instant results. Whether in my Vile Parle studio or my online Zoom sessions, we focus on the Jaipur Gharana style, emphasizing clarity in 'tatkaar' (footwork) and 'layakari' (rhythmic math) to build your foundation.

The Guru-Shishya Parampara is the heart of our art. It is not just about mastering the steps, but understanding the philosophy, the math, and the emotion behind every movement. My mother, Guru Smt. Radhika Sathe, has dedicated over forty years to this tradition, and I aim to carry that same discipline forward in every class I teach.

Why This Tradition Matters

When you study Kathak with us, you are not just a student in a batch. You are part of an ongoing conversation between teacher and student. This is why I keep my batch sizes small, capped at ten to fifteen students, to ensure that every individual receives hands-on correction. Whether we are practicing 'chakkars' or diving into the complexities of 'teentaal', the focus remains on the quality of your movement and the depth of your understanding.

Your Journey

We welcome anyone with the will to learn, whether you are six or sixty. My beginner classes start from the absolute basics, assuming no prior experience. We use a mix of live interaction and recorded resources to ensure you can continue your 'riyaz' (daily practice) comfortably at home. For those looking to go deeper, we offer opportunities to perform in our annual showcase and work toward advanced certification in the Jaipur Gharana style. This is a path of consistency, and I am here to guide you through every stage.
