Riyaz is where the dance becomes a part of you. Step into our Vile Parle studio and see what disciplined, joyful practice looks like.

A spontaneous dance with a fellow student after class. The studio is a space for structured learning, but also for creative exploration and shared joy.

Just me enjoying Krishna in His most rhythmic and lyrical form. A simple, heartfelt practice session on my terrace, connecting with the music and the story.

The sheer and absolute joy of dancing. A moment of free-flowing practice in the studio, letting the music guide the movements and feeling the energy of Kathak.

A practice session with one of my favorite tracks. The studio is my sanctuary, a place to refine technique, explore new ideas, and simply lose myself in the dance.

Guruji and Taranas. A glimpse from a workshop where we are all learning a beautiful Tarana composition directly from the master. The energy of learning together is powerful.

A short piece dedicated to Shakti, the divine feminine energy. The studio is a space not just for physical practice, but for spiritual connection and expression as well.

Revisiting a rare and beautiful composition on the Abhisarika Nayika, taught to me by my Guruji. Practice is also about revisiting and deepening your understanding of older pieces.

The journey of learning an Abhinaya bandish from Guruji is a divine experience. Here, my students are absorbing the story of Krishna, embodying the character through their dance.

A dance offering to Mahaganapatim on Ganesh Chaturthi. Even a simple practice on the terrace becomes a prayer when done with devotion.

The beauty of uniformity in a group practice session. As students dance together, they learn to move as one, creating a powerful visual and energetic harmony.

About In the Studio: Glimpses of Riyaz

Real Kathak happens when the music stops and the repetition begins. In my studio, we do not just run through steps; we break down every 'bol' (syllable) and focus on the posture, ensuring your footwork has that crisp, Jaipur Gharana clarity before we move to the next cycle. This is where you build the muscle memory that makes the dance feel effortless.
