About Specialized Kathak Workshops
What Drives Me
Kathak is my sadhana, not just a dance. I grew up learning from my mother and guru, Smt. Radhika Sathe, and carry forward the Jaipur Gharana tradition. These workshops are my way of sharing the real, raw side of Kathak - the discipline, the math, the devotion.
Who Should Join
If you already know your basic Kathak and want to push yourself, these workshops are for you. Minimum three years of training is needed for my Teentaal Intensive. I don’t sugarcoat it - this is not for beginners. You’ll be challenged, but you’ll also find your own voice.
What We Dive Into
- Advanced Teentaal Kathak training: Footwork, gatnikas, bandishes, all set in the 16-beat cycle.
- Layakari and Padhant techniques: We play with rhythm, recite bols, and get into the math behind the movement.
- Abhinaya and Thumri expression workshop: Learn to tell stories through subtle gestures, sometimes directly from my mother.
- Sometimes, I run single-session Tarana choreography workshops for those who want a quick taste.
How We Learn
- Live Zoom classes, interactive and real.
- If you miss a session, recordings are there for passive learning.
- Practice tracks and session videos for your riyaaz.
What You Get
I’m still learning, and I want you to feel that joy too. The journey is messy, sometimes tough, but always worth it. If you’re ready to go deep, let’s do it together.

My Story
I’m that Nari in a saree—beach, playground, wherever—always dancing. Kathak’s in my blood, thanks to my mom, Guru Radhika Sathe, who’s been living this art for 40+ years. At 16, I was told, ‘be excellent or don’t go on stage.’ So I danced everywhere, even online, found my own groove. Now, I carry forward our Kathak Nritya Mandir, grateful for every step, and for the new little one joining our journey.
