Our Yoga Journey: Workshops, Retreats & Daily Practice
A look at the heart of our practice. From intense backbend workshops in Delhi to peaceful Himalayan retreats, see how we build strength, focus, and a community that loves to laugh.
This is what my teaching is about: regular practice and careful guidance. Here, I am assisting a student to deepen her posture safely. The Sanskrit chant in the background, "Yogena chittasya padena vacham," is a prayer to Patanjali, honoring the tradition that guides us.
The energy of a full class on International Yoga Day is something special. Here we are moving together in Trikonasana (Triangle Pose), with some students even joining online. It shows that yoga truly connects us all.
Props are your best friends in yoga. In this video, I am using a chair to help a student safely explore an advanced backbend. This technique helps build confidence and proper alignment for challenging poses.
Our yoga retreats are an adventure for the body and soul. This clip shows my students and me during a trek to Manimahesh, followed by a breathtaking view of the mountains. We practice, we trek, we connect with nature.
This is a look into my online Ashtanga class, flowing through Surya Namaskar B. You can hear me leading the traditional Sanskrit count, "Ekam, dve, trini..." No matter where you are, you can join our practice and feel the energy.
Pranayama, or breathwork, is essential. Here, I am explaining Bhastrika Pranayama, a powerful technique to build energy, especially during the colder months. I always provide clear instructions and precautions for practices like these.
Laughter and fun are a big part of our yoga community. After a focused class, we often engage in fun activities like this one, holding hands and building connection. It’s about enjoying the process together.
About this collection
In our workshops, we don't just watch you practice; we work with you. Whether you are using a metal chair to safely deepen a backbend or learning the traditional Sanskrit count for Ashtanga Vinyasa, I am there with hands-on adjustments. We keep batches small so that every alignment is checked, ensuring you progress without injury.
Building Strength Through Tradition
Yoga is about consistent practice, not just showing up once in a while. In my studio, we follow the Ashtanga Vinyasa method. You will hear the traditional Sanskrit counting—Ekam, dve, trini—but you will also hear practical tips in Hindi to help you understand the anatomy behind every pose. Props like ropes, blocks, and chairs are not for beginners only; they are tools I use to help students of all levels master complex asanas like inversions and backbends without straining their bodies.
More Than Just a Mat
Practice should move off the mat, too. My workshops in Vikaspuri and Dwarka are designed for those who want to dive deeper into specific themes like detoxing through Kriya or mastering arm balances. We also step out of the studio entirely for our Himalayan retreats. Trekking in places like Manimahesh is not just about the adventure; it is about connecting with nature and our community, taking the discipline we learn in the studio and applying it to the challenges of the trail.
The Role of Laughter
Yes, we take the practice seriously, but sabse acchi therapy hai hasna (the best therapy is to laugh). A stiff, stressed body won't open up, but a happy one will. After our intensive sessions, you will often find us engaging in laughter therapy or community activities. Whether you are a total newbie or a long-time practitioner, my goal is to guide you through your journey with patience. Yog se he hoga—it will only happen through yoga, so let's start today.
Ashtanga Yoga Shala
I am here to make sure you enjoy the process as much as the result. Yoga is about progress, not perfection, and my goal is to guide you through it with proper alignment and plenty of laughter along the way.
