Your First Flight: Beginner's Guide to Aerial Yoga
Curious but worried about wobbling? You don't need to be a pro to get started. Our beginner classes are all about building trust with the hammock, finding your balance, and having a laugh while you learn.
A glimpse into one of our beginner aerial yoga sessions. We guide you through every step, focusing on strength, balance, and the joy of trying something new.
You're always supported here. Our instructors are hands-on, ensuring you feel safe and confident as you learn to trust the hammock and your own strength.
Sometimes we fly, sometimes we wobble, and we always laugh. This is the real, behind-the-scenes fun of learning aerial yoga. No one was injured, but many laughs were had.
This is your sign to try something new. Our classes are full of people taking their first step, or flight, into aerial yoga.
A look at a group class in session. Notice the different levels and poses happening at once. We create an environment where everyone can move at their own pace.
From grounded poses using the hammock for support to eventually taking flight, our beginner classes are designed to build your skills progressively.
About Your First Flight: Beginner's Guide
You don't need to be bendy or super strong to start. Our beginner sessions focus on building trust with the hammock, allowing you to stretch deeper and decompress your spine safely while our instructors spot your every move. It is about getting comfortable with the gear before you try your first inversion.
Think of the hammock as your workout partner. In our GK-1 studio, we see plenty of people who walk in thinking they aren't 'yoga-type' people, only to find themselves upside down and laughing by the end of the hour.
Why start with us?
- Controlled support: The hammock takes your weight, allowing you to hold poses longer and stretch deeper without stressing your joints.
- Spine health: It’s a great way to decompress after sitting at a desk all day.
- No intimidation: We are not about perfect poses. We are about community. If you wobble, we laugh. If you fall, we help you back up.
Our beginner sessions are designed to be a safe entry point. You will learn how to grip the fabric, how to trust it with your full body weight, and how to safely move from grounded poses to taking flight. We keep the groups small enough that you’ll always get the attention you need to feel secure. By the time you finish your first few sessions, you won't just be doing yoga—you will be part of the BRYK crew.
