About Partner & Acro Yoga: Connect & Play
In these sessions, we focus on safe physical support and alignment rather than just attempting complex shapes. Whether you are working on a simple seated stretch or an advanced inversion, I ensure you have the proper handholds and spotting techniques to practice without fear of injury.
Partner yoga is less about the pose itself and more about the communication between two people. When you practice at my studio, you learn to trust your base and find stability through shared effort. We move beyond basic stretching to explore trust-building activities like the bird pose, partner forward folds, and human pyramids, all done with strict attention to safety.
Why Practice Partner Yoga?
It forces you to be present. You cannot check out mentally when someone else is relying on your balance. This practice naturally improves your core strength and spatial awareness, as you are responsible not just for your own body, but for your partner's as well. I use a variety of props including blocks and straps to make these connections accessible to students of different flexibility levels.
My Approach to Acro and Partner Work
- Safety First: I provide hands-on physical adjustments to ensure your alignment is correct before you put weight on a partner.
- Inclusive Levels: You do not need to be an athlete to start. We break down every movement into simple, manageable steps.
- Focus on Flow: We balance the strength-building aspects of Acro yoga with the grounding nature of Hatha, ensuring you leave the mat feeling both strong and calm.
