About Spiritual Gatherings & Community Events
We’re all about coming together as a spiritual family. At Ananda Sangha, I see how much it helps to be with people who want to find a little more peace and meaning. Whether you’re new to all this or have been meditating for years, you’ll find a mix of quiet, joy, and support here.
What Happens at Our Gatherings
- Sunday mornings are for our main satsang. There’s devotional chanting (kirtan) to lift the mood, plus a mix of guided spiritual meditation sessions and practical talks rooted in Paramhansa Yogananda’s teachings.
- After the main events, we share prasad, chat, and just hang out as gurubhais (spiritual friends).
- Sometimes we hold Arti (ceremony of light) to wrap things up, and it’s honestly a beautiful little ritual.
Beyond Sundays: More Ways to Connect
- We do regular meditation and devotional chanting events outside of Sundays, for anyone who wants to go deeper or just be in good company.
- Spiritual holiday celebrations like Guru Purnima, Janmashtami, and Christmas are big for us. They’re full of stories, chanting, and a sense of togetherness.
Our Sangha Spirit
- Community seva activities are a huge part of what we do. We get together to help out, whether at the center or outside.
- Every so often, we organize pilgrimages to places that mean something to our path.
How to Join Us
- We meet at our Ulsoor and Whitefield centers, the Ananda Bangalore Retreat, and other spots like Indiranagar for bigger events.
- Many gatherings go online too, so you can join our online satsang gatherings from wherever you are.
If you’re looking for a group that’s warm, welcoming, and a little bit quirky, you’ll probably feel at home.

My Story
We’re just a bunch of gurubhais, walking the Yogananda path together in namaste spirit. Some of us read 'Autobiography of a Yogi' and—boom—life changed. Swami Kriyananda started all this, wanting sanghas where folks could live these teachings, not just talk about them. We’re not gurus, just fellow travelers, sharing what’s helped us find joy inside. We chant, meditate, do seva, and try to be a spiritual family. Come join, feel at home.
