My Approach to Pilates at Align

Pilates isn’t just about looking fit; it’s about controlling your body with your mind. At Align, I combine my Stott Pilates training with a focus on real-world movement to help you feel stronger, fix your posture, and recover from injuries.

This is national-level squash champion Akanksha Salunkhe during her rehabilitation with me after an ACL tear and surgery. My approach is to build a progressive, safe, and effective plan that helps athletes and individuals regain strength and confidence in their movement.

From injury to strength, this is what recovery looks like. Here, I designed a tailored Pilates plan for Dayena, a professional model, to help her overcome a meniscus tear. We focused on rebuilding stability and control, allowing her to move with confidence again.

A lot of people think faster is better, but in rehabilitative Pilates, the opposite is true. Slow, controlled movements build more muscle control and stability, which is key for preventing re-injury and correcting posture. This is how we build real, lasting strength.

Did you know Pilates began as a rehabilitation method for injured soldiers during WWI? Its core principles are rooted in recovery and building functional strength. I carry this original intent into every session, focusing on low-impact movements that heal and empower.

How do you know Pilates is working? Everyday things like climbing stairs or bending down start to feel easier, and you feel calmer and more connected to your body. These are the real-world results I help my clients achieve, one session at a time.

If you're stuck at a desk all day, you know the toll it takes on your body. Pilates is the perfect antidote to slouching and stiffness. We work to strengthen your core and back, improving your posture and leaving you feeling energized and ready to take on the day.

Pilates is one of the safest and most effective ways to stay strong during pregnancy. I create specialized prenatal programs that focus on reducing back pain, improving balance, and preparing your body for labor, ensuring both you and your baby are supported.

You might think Pilates is just light stretching, but at my studio, we treat it like rigorous training. When you're on the Reformer and your legs start shaking, that’s not a sign to stop—it’s the sign that your body is finally waking up, and that’s exactly where the real strength is built.

I started 'Align with Saba' because I wanted a space where Pilates feels like family, not just a corporate gym. I am a fully certified Stott Pilates instructor, and my training goes beyond general fitness. I work heavily with injury rehabilitation—from ACL surgery recovery to fixing that chronic 'tech neck' you get from sitting at a desk all day.

We use high-end Merrithew equipment like the V2 Max Reformer, Cadillac, and Stability Chair. These aren't just machines; they are tools I use to load your joints safely while forcing your muscles to work in ways they haven't in years.

My method is based on 'Quality over Quantity.' We move slow. We count reps. If you are rushing through a movement, you aren't doing Pilates—you are just using momentum. We focus on the control in Contrology. Whether you are an athlete looking to return to the field or a professional trying to fix a hunched back, the goal is always the same: freedom to move.

My sessions are structured: we do an initial assessment, map out your recovery timeline, and use tactile cueing to ensure your spine and joints stay neutral. It’s hard work, but I’ll be there counting you down.
