There is so much misinformation about fitness out there. Here are a few myths we are not falling for: that Pilates is just stretching, that you can't get strong without lifting heavy, or that it's only for a certain type of person. Pilates is for every body.
Many people think low-impact exercise means less effective, but that's a myth. Pilates is designed to be gentle on your joints while still challenging your muscles to build serious strength. It's a smart, sustainable way to train for all ages and fitness levels.

Many clients walk into my studio expecting a soft, breezy session because they hear the term low-impact. Let me be clear: low-impact simply means we protect your joints from unnecessary pounding. We still load your muscles with tension on the Reformer that will make your legs shake in the best way possible. If you are not feeling that deep, controlled burn, you are not doing the real work. That feeling—the 'mere body me sensations'—is your body finally waking up and moving the way it was designed to.

Why It Matters
Pilates started as a method for rehabilitation, not for quick aesthetic fixes. When we use the Merrithew equipment in my Khar studio, we are applying controlled resistance. The Common Myths

- 'It is too late to start': I work with people at every stage, including those recovering from ACL injuries or managing back pain from desk jobs. We tailor the spring tension and movement to exactly where your body is today, not where you think it should be.
