These are the moments that keep me grounded. From learning under masters in Mumbai to seeing my name in print, this is a look at the journey behind the teacher.

I feel very blessed to have my name mentioned in this book from The Yoga Institute, next to my master, Ramendra sir. I am forever a student, and I am grateful for my teachers.

About Miscellaneous

Seeing my name in the acknowledgments of a book from The Yoga Institute, right next to my master Ramendra Sir, felt surreal. It wasn't about the recognition; it was a reminder that before you can teach, you must always remain a student. I share these milestones not to show off, but to highlight that every step—even the quiet, behind-the-scenes work—is a vital part of the practice.

Always a Student First

People often ask me how I started or why I focus so much on consistency over intensity. The truth is, I spent years learning, failing, and showing up before I ever thought of teaching. My connection with The Yoga Institute in Mumbai and the mentorship I received there shaped how I view my own practice today.

Why Milestones Matter

When you see photos of workshops or book acknowledgments, they aren't just photos. They are markers of abhyasa (practice). Whether I am in Andheri, Malad, or training online, my philosophy remains the same: Subko sab kuch nahi milta, jo mila hai usme khush rehna aur mehnat karte rehna hai (Not everyone gets everything, you have to learn to be happy with what you have and keep working hard).

My Approach to Teaching

I don't teach to create perfect yogis overnight. I teach to help you build a sustainable relationship with your body.

  • Safe Foundations: We use props like blocks and straps not because they are trendy, but because they help you hold poses safely until your body is ready.
  • Community Vibe: My classes are less about talk and more about doing the work together.
  • Real Progress: Whether you join my online Ashtanga Vinyasa course or attend in-person sessions, expect a focus on alignment and breath over showing off flexible poses.

If you are looking to start your yoga journey in Mumbai or online, know that you are joining a space where it is okay to be imperfect. Let's focus on showing up, day after day, and see what you are truly capable of.

I’m Ajinkya, and I believe that before you can guide others, you have to be a good student yourself. My practice is built on years of showing up, learning from my masters in Mumbai, and staying real with my students. I don't claim to be perfect, just a happy practitioner who loves sharing the mat with you.
