I'm excited to announce that Mat Pilates classes are back. Here I am demonstrating a side-lying leg lift, a classic Pilates exercise that targets the outer thighs and glutes while stabilizing the core.
If you want to strengthen your core and tone your body, Mat Pilates is for you. This short video shows a few of the fundamental movements we practice, including crunches for abdominal strength and squats for lower body power.

About Mat Pilates: Build Your Foundation
My Mat Pilates classes are limited to 6-10 students so I can provide active form correction throughout the session. We use Swiss balls and foam blocks to deepen the work, but since the studio is a community space, please keep in mind that there are no shower facilities on site.
Building a Stronger Foundation
Pilates isn't about rushing through repetitions; it's about intentional, controlled movement. In my Mat Pilates sessions, we focus on Contrology principles. This means we prioritize your alignment and Ujjayi breath over speed, ensuring you safely engage your deep stabilizing muscles.
Whether you are a total beginner, recovering from an injury, or simply looking to add a low-impact routine to your day, these classes provide the space you need to listen to your body. You do not need to be a fitness pro to start—the goal is consistency, not perfection.
What to Expect
- In-Studio Group Sessions: We meet at the All India Balkan-ji-Bari community hall in Santacruz West. The space is air-conditioned with wooden flooring, making it comfortable for our Tuesday and Thursday morning practice.
- Virtual Options: If you cannot make it to the studio, I offer live interactive classes via Zoom or Google Meet. I monitor your form in real-time, offering verbal cues to keep you safe and effective.
- Personalized Focus: While these are group sessions, I keep the batch sizes small so I can ensure everyone is moving correctly. We use resistance bands, foam blocks, and Swiss balls to add variety and challenge to our mat-based work.
