Kids Yoga Through Stories and Imagination in Delhi
I turn yoga into an adventure. Instead of strict poses, we become jungle animals or storybook heroes. It’s how I help kids find focus and calm, theek hai?
Come join our magical storytelling yoga session! Here, we're acting out the story of Cinderella through movement. It's amazing to see how kids embrace yoga when it's part of a fun adventure, helping them with coordination and creative expression.
About Yoga Through Stories & Imagination
In these sessions, we aren’t just holding static poses. We are acting out tales like the Cinderella story, where every movement mimics the narrative. It’s a trick, really—by focusing on the story and the excitement of the character they’re playing, children naturally build strength and coordination without feeling like they are doing a structured workout.
How We Make Yoga Feel Like Play
Many parents worry that yoga will be too slow or 'boring' for high-energy kids. My classes in Panchsheel Park are the opposite. I structure the 60-minute sessions in small batches of 5 to 8 children, which allows me to give everyone attention while keeping the energy high.
We use storytelling to teach asanas. When we practice, we aren't just stretching; we are becoming jungle animals, climbing mountains, or playing heroes. This approach helps children develop motor memory and balance because they are engaged in the 'why' of the movement rather than just the mechanics.
Why This Matters for Kids
- Focus & Calm: I weave in 2-5 minutes of simple breathwork and meditation. Kids learn how to regulate their anxiety and focus better, even if they don't realise they're 'meditating.'
- Emotional Regulation: Yoga provides a safe space for kids to process big feelings. Through movement and shared play, they learn to communicate and work with others.
- Building Confidence: By focusing on what their bodies can do—rather than getting a pose perfect—children gain confidence. There is no right or wrong here, just exploration.
