Yoga Practice Moments and Training Techniques
From studio sessions in Mumbai to quiet home flows, here are the real moments from my practice. Yoga is about more than just the perfect pose.
An amazing athlete working on her practice. This clip shows her moving from a balancing pose into a deep scorpion forearm stand.
A hot yoga session using a wheel for backbends. The heat helps to loosen muscles for a deeper stretch.
A back-bending practice with a client, focusing on deepening her flexibility and opening her spine.
A sparkling beginning to a new year. A client holds a challenging arm balance, showing her strength and focus.
Cheers to a new year. A client works on her Hanumanasana (split) with the support of blocks.
A new year, a new level of strength. Assisting a client with a drop-back using a strap for support.
Using a stability ball and dumbbells to deepen a backbend. This is a creative way to fuse gym equipment with yoga.
An arm balance variation using a step for support. This helps build the strength needed for the full pose.
A client in Supta Virasana (Reclined Hero Pose), a deep stretch for the quadriceps and hip flexors.
What did I teach versus what they learned? A fun look at the process of learning and the joy of achieving a pose like wheel.
About Additional Work
What you see in these images is the result of consistency, not just flexibility. Whether we are using a yoga wheel to open the spine or blocks to deepen a stretch, every adjustment is designed to help you reach your limit safely. It is not about looking like a gymnast; it is about finding the alignment that works for your specific body structure today.
Many of these images reflect the real work of yoga. It is easy to find pictures of people sitting in perfect poses, but the true value lies in the preparation. Whether we are using blocks to support a split or a yoga wheel to open the chest, these tools are not shortcuts. They are safety measures that allow your body to understand alignment before you add intensity.
My approach mixes traditional Hatha and Ashtanga foundations with functional mobility drills like Animal Flow. This variety keeps the practice fresh and ensures we are not just building flexibility but also functional strength. I have worked with clients dealing with back pain, joint stiffness, and those simply wanting to move better after long hours at a desk. We address these issues by breaking down complex asanas into manageable, step-by-step movements.
I also believe in making the practice accessible. Whether you are training at a studio in Bandra or in your living room, the goal remains the same: building resilience. Sometimes that means a heavy strength session, and other times, it means slowing down to breathe. If you are curious about how we can adapt a practice to your specific goals or limitations, let us talk about your requirements.
Samarth Jani
I am Samarth. I have spent over a decade on the mat, and I have learned that the hard way. Pushing too fast causes injury, not progress. I teach to help you listen to your own body, using Hatha, Animal Flow, and even music to keep the practice honest and grounded.
