Aerial is where I fly, but Iyengar ropes and gymnastic rings are how I build the foundation. If you want to mix up your practice, let's work on alignment and strength together.

Using the Iyengar yoga ropes for a deep inner thigh and hip stretch. This is a great way to work on flexibility with support.

Another student using the Iyengar ropes to open up the hips. This method was developed by B.K.S. Iyengar to help students get deeper into poses.

This is a sequence on the Iyengar ropes. It's a powerful way to build strength and flexibility, using the wall as a support.

Just hanging out. This rope inversion is fantastic for decompressing the spine and is a different experience from the hammock.

Here you can see a comparison. One student is in a headstand on the mat, and the other is using the ropes for a supported inversion. There are many ways to go upside down.

Helping a student with her headstand. Building a strong foundation on the mat is important for all other practices.

Working out with gymnastic rings. This is an incredible way to build upper body and core strength, which helps a lot in aerial yoga.

About Exploring All Kinds of Yoga

See those ropes on the wall? This is Iyengar yoga, and it is a total game-changer for your posture. If you are struggling to reach your toes or your back feels stiff from sitting, these ropes support you so you can go deeper into the stretch without the stress. We use them for everything from gentle hip openers to full inversions, helping you build strength and alignment safely.
