Yoga Beyond the Mat: Traditional Practice in Navi Mumbai

Yoga is not just about poses on a mat. It is a way of living that I bring into every session, whether we are in my Sanpada studio or connecting with nature.

Yoga on the beach. A handstand on the sand in Rishikesh, feeling the energy of the earth and the sky.

Yoga on the rocks by the river Ganga. Holding a balancing pose here reminds me of the constant flow and stability of nature.

A balancing pose with closed eyes on an uneven surface by the river. This is a true test of mental calm and focus, the essence of yoga.

Backbend on the beach. Releasing pent-up emotions with a wheel pose is a therapeutic experience, especially with the sound of the waves.

When you are emotionally caught do more and more of backbend. It releases all ur pent up emotions which are unanswered, hidden but need to be addressed to.

"Slow down and everything you are chasing will come around and catch you." A moment of stillness and balance in nature, reflecting the peaceful philosophy we cultivate in the studio.

Yog doesn’t only mean bending here and there, but it also means keeping the head, neck and spine straight and erect.

About this collection

I often hear students say they aren't flexible enough for yoga. My practice focuses on building that strength and mobility step-by-step using wall-mounted ropes and blocks. Whether we are in my Sanpada studio or outdoors, the goal is to create space in your body and mind, not to force a perfect pose.

For me, yoga is a moving meditation. It is about slowing down those nonstop thoughts and actually feeling connected. When I teach Hatha Yoga in my Sanpada studio, we do not just hold shapes. We use the studio space to build a foundation that you can carry outside with you.

My approach is rooted in traditional Hatha, which means we work on breathwork (Pranayama) as much as physical postures. This helps you regulate your energy, whether you are trying to manage stress from a corporate job or just looking for a way to stay grounded.

We keep the groups small so I can provide guidance on posture. We use props like straps and wall-mounted ropes to help you reach deeper into stretches safely, even if you are just starting your journey. My studio, with its focus on calmness and spiritual energy, is designed to be a place where you can switch off the noise of Navi Mumbai and practice in peace.

I encourage you to look at your practice as a long-term conversation with your own body. We work on strength, flexibility, and eventually, the deeper practices like sound healing and meditation. You do not need to be perfect to start; you just need to show up.

I did not start out flexible or strong. After years in a corporate job, I found my calm through practice, not by accident. Now, I teach Hatha Yoga to help you find that same strength, balance, and mental stillness, regardless of where you are starting.
