We are We Design Studio, a boutique, award-winning firm founded in 2011. We focus on holistic and highly customized design solutions with an ascetic approach, creating simple, seamless experiences.
What sets us apart is our commitment to individual artistic expression. By taking on a limited number of projects, our principal architects remain deeply engaged from start to finish, ensuring every detail is thoughtfully considered.

About Our Philosophy & Approach
We purposefully limit the number of projects we take on each year. This allows us to ensure that as principal architects, we remain directly involved in every phase—from initial site analysis to the final selection of materials—fostering a deep, collaborative dialogue that defines the unique character of each home.
An Ascetic Approach to Architecture
We believe design should not shout for attention. Instead, we advocate for a spatial narrative that invites you in, slowly revealing its layers through light, shadow, and texture. Our work is rooted in an ascetic sensibility where we strip away the non-essential, allowing the inherent qualities of materials like recycled Burma teak, local stone, and raw concrete to provide the primary aesthetic.
Integrating With the Landscape
Sustainability is not an afterthought for our studio; it is the starting point of our spatial planning. Whether we are transforming an apartment in a dense city block or designing a weekend villa, we prioritize the existing context. We analyze sun paths and wind directions to minimize energy use, often creating open-to-sky courtyards and large apertures to bridge the divide between the indoors and the natural world.
The Collaborative Process
Our studio, based in Andheri West, Mumbai, is built on a foundation of rigorous design theory. We treat every project—be it a ground-up villa or a complex interior reconfiguration—as a fresh start. By maintaining a small team and a focused project load, we ensure that every client receives our full attention. This allows for a granular level of detail, from the structural coordination required for column-free spaces to the precision of custom joinery and lighting plans.
