Yoga for Women's Health: Natural Relief and Wellness
I guide you through gentle, prop-supported routines to help manage period pain, improve circulation, and restore vitality. Whether in my studio or online, we practice safe, traditional yoga to find balance.
Many women experience painful cramps and discomfort during their periods. I share a few gentle asanas like Baddhakonasana and Marjaryasana, along with a recipe for a herbal tea, to provide natural and effective relief.
For period pain, restorative poses are very beneficial. Here, I demonstrate how to use a bolster to support the body in a gentle twist, which helps to calm the nervous system and ease cramps.
Here, my students use chairs to support their legs in an inverted pose. This is a wonderful practice for women as it helps improve circulation, reduces swelling in the legs, and calms the mind.
This video demonstrates an asana that helps enhance a woman's beauty by improving blood circulation to the face. It is also known to help make hair thicker and longer.
About Yoga for Women's Health
When dealing with menstrual discomfort, I do not just teach asanas; I emphasize using props like bolsters and straps to support your body during its natural cycle. By using gravity-assisted poses like Viparita Karani, we allow the nervous system to settle, which is often the missing piece in calming acute cramps and bloating.
True health is about connecting mind and breath, not just performing difficult poses. For women's health, this means moving with awareness, especially during the menstrual cycle. I focus on restorative poses like Baddhakonasana (Butterfly Pose) to open the hips and Cat-Cow stretches to release tension in the lower back and abdomen. These movements improve blood circulation, which helps reduce cramp intensity and regulates hormonal flow.
In my sessions at the Rohini studio or our live online programs, I teach the use of simple props. A bolster or chair can completely change how a pose feels, allowing you to relax deeply rather than straining. Beyond the mat, I also advocate for simple dietary support. I often recommend a traditional tea made from ajwain (carom seeds), sounf (fennel), and ginger. Boiling these in water until it reduces by half creates a natural, effective remedy for bloating and discomfort.
My goal is to provide a sustainable path to wellness, whether you are struggling with period pain, skin health, or just need to restore energy. We do not use force. Instead, we move step by step, using breathwork like Pranayama to manage stress and improve internal organ function. If you are ready to start, we can discuss your specific concerns and set up a routine that you can practice safely, either with me in person or from your home.
