Student Pottery Creations: See What We Make
Proof that our students have serious talent. From wonky-but-wonderful mugs to porcelain playing cards, these pieces were all made right here in our 'Luru studio.
The iconic boob mug! These are a signature creation from one of our talented students and always a conversation starter. We love seeing such bold and fun ideas come to life.
A collection of student-made mugs, each with its own unique personality. This one features beautiful sprig work inspired by South Indian temple architecture.
How adorable are these hand-painted cup and saucer sets? The delicate floral patterns make them almost too pretty to use.
A stunning sgraffito mug with a leaf pattern. The artist gets into a total trance while carving these, and the results are just breathtaking.
Simple, elegant, and perfectly imperfect. These speckled white mugs are a testament to the beauty of minimalist design.
The "kangaroo mug" with a little pocket for your tea bag. Our students come up with the most creative and functional designs!
A beautiful mug with a drippy, layered glaze effect. Experimenting with glazes is one of the most exciting parts of the pottery process.
About this collection
Everything you see here started as a lump of clay. We guide you through the process, but the personality—the sarcasm on a mug, the intricate leaf patterns, the kangaroo pockets—that is all our students. Whether it is your first time or your fiftieth, the goal is not just a perfect pot; it is making something that actually feels like yours.
People walk into our Koramangala studio thinking they need years of 'talent' to make pottery. The truth? You just need a bit of patience and a willingness to get your hands dirty. We run our classes as a space where 'messy' is just part of the design process.
Whether you are eyeing our 16-session deep dive or a quick weekend workshop, our students' creations prove that variety is the spice of life here. You will find everything from intricate sgraffito carving to hand-built figurines that make no sense but look amazing.
What actually goes into your work?
- Guidance, not gatekeeping: We are here to show you how to center the clay, but we are not going to fix your mistakes unless you want us to. Imperfection gives pottery its soul.
- The Firing Process: Every piece you see here went through our glazing and firing cycles at 1200°C. You make it, we handle the technical magic, and you get a food-safe piece to take home in about two weeks.
- Community First: We are not a factory. We are a studio where students trade tips, critique each other’s work, and occasionally end up making ceramic playing cards because it seemed like a fun challenge.
If you are looking to pick up a new hobby or just want to spend your weekend doing something other than scrolling on your phone, come by. Leave the perfectionism at the door—you will not need it here.
Trayah Pottery
We are Trayah, your local Koramangala pot squad. We are less about rigid 'teaching' and more about hanging out, making a mess, and seeing what wild ideas our students come up with next. Come get dirty with the fam.
