About Taekwondo Classes
Not Just About Kicks
I’m Vikas Jha, and I coach Taekwondo at Tiger Taekwondo Academy. Most folks think it's just kicking and fighting, but Taekwondo is much more. Sirf kick nahi, sab kuch basic se shuru hota hai (It's not just about kicks, everything starts from the basics). I teach you the sport, its rules, and how to actually play - not just fight.
What You’ll Learn
- We begin with fundamentals - Poomsae forms training, technical drills, and why each move matters.
- You’ll get the hang of kicks (
Dollyo chagi,Ap chagi,Dwi chagi), blocks (Makki), and punches (Jireugi). - I’ll break down the Korean terms we use daily, like
dobok(uniform) and counting (Hana, Dul, Set...).
Competitive Edge
- Once your basics are solid, I get you ready for Kyorugi sparring techniques and official competitions.
- We cover point systems, how to avoid fouls (
gamjum), and practice with full gear. - The training is tough but controlled, so you build real confidence.
Fitness & Discipline
- Classes focus on Taekwondo fitness drills - speed, strength, flexibility. Agility ladders, push-ups, stretching, all for those high kicks.
- Discipline is non-negotiable - expect Korean commands and a respectful vibe.
Climb the Belt Ladder
- Progress means moving up belts. Regular Taekwondo belt grading tests happen at the academy.
- You’ll show your Poomsae, techniques, and smash some boards (
Kyokpa). It’s a big deal, and I’ll push you to earn it. Shabash! (Bravo!)
Real Talk
Taekwondo needs mehnat aur sabar (hard work and patience). It's not for everyone, but if you’re in, it shapes you for life. Chaliye, ready to start?

My Story
Namaste, hum Tiger Taekwondo Academy se hain, aur Delhi mein bachhon ko Taekwondo sikhate hain. Humara maksad hai ki bachhe sirf physically nahi, mentally bhi strong banein. Jab humare students, jaise Ritika, Gold medal jeet kar aate hain, toh bohot khushi milti hai. Khud bhi hum hamesha kuch naya seekhte hain - abhi National Referee training complete kiya. Taekwondo ke saath thoda religious bhi hain. Jai Shree Ram, Happy Chhath Puja!
My Work
Taekwondo training, sparring, self-defence - Hum classes mein Taekwondo sparring drills, self-defence for kids, belt grading preparation karwate hain.
Training style with rules - Sirf kick nahi, rules samjhana bhi important hai - gamjum, gripping, referee signals, sab cover karte hain.
Point system & smart play - Advanced kick techniques jaise dollyo chagi, dwi chagi, aur points kaise milte hain, ye sab sikhate hain.
Discipline and pledge - Martial arts discipline pledge, mehnat, sabar, saaf-safai, nakhun cut karna - ye sab class ka part hai.
