About Mastering the Art: Poomsae & Technical Drills
At Tiger Taekwondo Academy, I don’t just show you how to kick. We focus heavily on the 'why' behind every stance and block. You will learn to hold your Juchum Seogi correctly and coordinate your breathing with movement, which is exactly what judges look for during grading. It is the technical precision here that separates a beginner from a competitive athlete.
The Foundation of Taekwondo
Poomsae is the heartbeat of Taekwondo. It is a choreographed sequence of defensive and offensive techniques against imaginary opponents. It forces you to focus on balance, precision, and rhythm. Whether you are prepping for your next belt grading—like moving from white to green—or looking to perfect your form for competitions, we break it down step-by-step.
Technical Training
- Stances: You will master foundational postures like Ap Kubi (front stance) and Dwikubi (back stance). Correct stance is the foundation of power generation.
- Korean Terminology: You won't just memorize movements; you will learn the language of the sport. We use terms like Charyot (attention) and Kyokpa (board breaking) in every session to keep you mentally sharp.
- Discipline and Flow: Martial arts requires mehnat (hard work) and sabar (patience). Our classes integrate fitness, stretching, and mental focus, ensuring you build the agility needed for high kicks while maintaining the discipline of a true practitioner.
If you are looking to get your basics right or need expert guidance to clear your belt grading tests in Janakpuri, join us at the academy. We train for perfection, not just for show.
