The human pyramids you see in our gallery require deep trust, core strength, and countless hours of practice on our specialized puzzle mats. We focus on the fundamentals of balance and proper alignment, ensuring every child feels secure and capable before they attempt these advanced acrobatic sequences.
Yoga at Thirkan is about more than just staying fit. For our younger students, we break down the practice into manageable, engaging steps. We start with basic asanas, breathing exercises, and meditation to help children settle their minds and improve concentration.
Our approach is highly structured. We believe that discipline is the foundation of growth, which is why we guide students through 12-step Surya Namaskar sequences and traditional breathing exercises before moving into more challenging drills.
What sets our classes apart is the introduction of Acro-Yoga. You will often find our students working in teams, building human pyramids, and practicing synchronized poses. This is not just about physical flexibility; it is about building teamwork and self-assurance. We conduct these sessions at the Capetown Club using padded puzzle mats to prevent injuries, ensuring a safe environment for your child to push their limits.
Whether your child is looking to increase their height, improve their focus for academics, or gain the confidence to perform at events, we provide the path. We keep class sizes small so we can provide individual attention, helping each student refine their posture and gain strength at their own pace.
