Why Music Feels Like Home Here

Music at Thirkan isn’t just about hitting the right notes. For us, it’s a whole vibe - a mix of tradition, discipline, and those unspoken moments between a Guru and a student. I’ve grown up with the Guru-Shishya parampara (teacher-student tradition), so what I teach is straight from the heart, handed down from my own teachers.

What You’ll Find in My Classes

• Hindustani vocal lessons: We start with the basics, like sargam (Sa Re Ga Ma...), and slowly build up to raags and different styles - sometimes devotional, sometimes just for fun.
• Tabla group classes: Rhythm is everything. Our tabla sessions go from theory to hands-on practice, and you’ll pick up taals, bols, and get to jam with others.
• Guitar lessons: If you want something a bit different, we’ve got a space for strumming and chords too.

I prefer group classes - honestly, learning together just makes it less intimidating and a lot more fun. You’ll always see us using harmonium or keyboard to keep everyone in sync.

For Kids, Adults, Anyone

We have separate kids classical singing batches, and yes, adults who never sang before fit right in. The only real rule here is: come with a little patience and a lot of curiosity.

Bachchon ke liye (for kids), we make things extra simple and playful. And for everyone else, it’s about finding your pace.
