Music at The Sound Space is about more than just classes—it is a way for families to bond, grow, and play together. See what our parents and students are saying about their journey with us.

"It has been a wonderful journey... to inculcate the love for simple notes, sargam and then enjoy the music." A parent shares her seven-year journey with us, highlighting our encouraging and non-competitive teaching style that inspired her to join our adult classes too.

"After looking at her, even I joined the class." This parent review shows how the joy of music is contagious. She speaks about how her daughter's positive experience inspired her to start her own musical journey with us.

"Lots of music, lots of animals, lots of fun instruments." A father gives a glowing review of our 'Jungle Jugalbandi' workshop, emphasizing the high level of interaction, movement, and visual storytelling that made it a great experience for him and his daughter.

This is why we do what we do. One of our little students took her music lesson home, becoming the "teacher" and making sure her mom was singing the sargam correctly. When music becomes a part of their play, we know we've sparked a lifelong friendship with the arts.

"The Sound Space is the space where you're supposed to be." We were honored to have renowned musician Mr. Neeraj Shridhar as the chief guest at our fundraiser, and his words of encouragement for our mission were truly inspiring.

"Repeat after me!" This is a classic call-and-response technique in action. An instructor sings a phrase, and the children echo it back, naturally learning pitch, melody, and rhythm in a conversational way.

About Words from Our Community

It is not rare for parents to sign up after watching their children have fun. Many of the families you see here started with their toddlers in a weekend workshop and ended up joining our adult classes, turning their shared Sunday morning activity into a lifelong musical hobby.

Building a space where music is a friend rather than a subject is the heart of what we do. When you walk into one of our sessions, you aren't just a student or a parent sitting in the back. You are part of a community. We see this in the 'Jungle Jugalbandi' sessions where parents and kids discover rhythm together, and in the 'Sakhya' fundraisers where our students perform for a cause. It is this shared experience that makes our classes feel like home.

We do not believe in pressure or performing just for the sake of it. We believe in the 'Sargam' and the simple joy of finding a 'Sur'. Whether it is a parent finding their 'me time' in our adult classical music sessions or a child role-playing as their music teacher at home, these are the moments that define us. If you are looking for a place where your child can learn without fear of judgment, or if you want to pick up a hobby that actually relaxes you, you are in the right place. Our goal is to make sure that when you leave, you take a little bit of that rhythm home with you.
