Playing with a creative variation of Sirsasana (Headstand) in the studio. Inversions are a fun way to challenge your balance and see the world differently.

Another playful headstand variation, finding a moment of balance and joy. The focus is not on perfection, but on the feeling within.

The foundation is everything. This perspective of an inversion emphasizes the importance of the hands and arms as our roots.

About this collection

Advanced practice is about more than holding a handstand—it is about intelligent alignment. We use dedicated rope walls and props to help you decompress your spine safely while you explore inversions. If you are worried about your wrists or shoulders, our instructors provide the hands-on cues you need to find stability before you find depth.

When we step into inversions like Sirsasana (headstand) or handstands, we are doing more than testing our balance. We are changing our physiological state and, often, our mood. That is why we emphasize the 'hope molecules'—the idea that moving our bodies releases the chemicals we need to feel resilient against stress.

Why Our Approach is Different

We don't believe in forcing the body into shapes. Whether you are working toward your first free-standing inversion or refining your alignment, we focus on the foundation.

  • Safe Progression: We use our wall ropes to help you experience the feeling of inversion while keeping your spine decompressed and safe. This allows you to build the core strength required without straining your neck or lower back.
  • The Foundation: You will hear us talk a lot about your roots—your hands and arms. We teach you how to engage the right muscles to support the weight, rather than just dumping it into your joints.
  • Mental Focus: Advanced yoga is a practice of stillness, not just gymnastics. We integrate breathwork and meditation into these sessions because holding a balance requires a quiet mind.

Is this for you?

You don't need to be a pro to join. If you have been practicing for a while and feel ready to explore new movements, our studio in Bandra West is the place to do it. We keep our groups intimate, meaning you get individual attention and manual adjustments, ensuring you understand the mechanics of the pose.

Come prepared to play, fall out of a few poses, and laugh about it. Advanced practice at Tangerine is about exploring your boundaries with curiosity, not perfection.
