About Event Announcements
When you attend one of our baithaks, you are not sitting in a distant audience. You are right there on the floor with us, within arm's reach of the harmonium and tabla, where every breath and every nuance of the raga is felt. This intimacy allows for a direct exchange of 'bhaav' between the artist and the listener, which is the heart of what we aim to preserve in every event.
The Baithak Tradition
Our baithaks are designed to strip away the artifice of a stage. Whether hosted at our academy in Rohini or in an intimate community hall, these sessions focus on the purity of the music. We present detailed raga recitals, exploring the mood and technicality of the notes, and often include lecture-demonstrations where we discuss the history and philosophy behind the compositions. It is a space for serious listeners to engage deeply with Hindustani classical music.
Annual Highlights: Raghunathanjali
Each year, we gather for our flagship program, 'Raghunathanjali'. This event is a testament to our Guru-Shishya lineage, featuring a diverse lineup of guest maestros alongside our senior students. From vocal duets to instrumental jugalbandis involving sitar and tabla, the program is a culmination of a year's dedication. It is where we invite the broader community to witness the continuity of our tradition.
Performing at Your Venue
We extend these traditional performances beyond our own walls. We are frequently invited to perform at formal concerts, spiritual gatherings, and private cultural events across the country. If you are looking to host an authentic Hindustani classical recital—be it a sombre devotional evening or a nuanced mehfil—we bring the full ensemble, including experienced percussion and melody accompanists. We handle the musical planning to ensure the raga and the repertoire align perfectly with the atmosphere you wish to create.
Swarveni Gurukul
Music is my sadhana, and these events are where I share that offering with you. Whether you join us for a monthly baithak at our academy or at a larger public concert, you are not just an audience member; you become part of our musical family.
