A duet performance of 'Bhavani Dayani' in Raag Bhairavi, featuring me on vocals and an accompanying flutist. Such collaborations on stage create a rich dialogue between different instruments and the voice.

About Formal Classical Concerts
When we prepare for a grand classical concert, the soundscape is our priority. We require a mandatory 60-minute sound check to balance our 5-piece ensemble, which includes vocal, tabla, harmonium, and a guest instrumentalist on flute or sarangi. This ensures that the meditative quality of the raga remains pure, whether we are performing in a large auditorium or a corporate setting.
For a formal concert, we structure the performance to honour the listener's patience and the raga's integrity. We typically open with a Vilambit Khayal to set the meditative tone, followed by a Drut Bandish that showcases technical precision.
My ensemble brings a rich dialogue to the stage through Jugalbandi, where the interplay between the vocalist and our guest instrumentalist creates a complex, engaging conversation of notes. We believe that classical music should be accessible, which is why our concert packages include brief, insightful lecture-demos. During these segments, I explain the mood and the structure of the raga in Hindi or English, allowing the audience to appreciate the nuances of what they are hearing rather than just listening passively.
Our lineup is designed for professional sound environments. The inclusion of a live Tanpura player adds a layer of acoustic authenticity that digital drones cannot match. For corporate showcases, we maintain a polished appearance in traditional concert wear, ensuring the visual presentation is as refined as the music itself. Whether it is an annual day function, a festival celebration, or a high-level corporate event, our aim is to provide a performance that upholds the dignity of the Guru-Shishya tradition while delivering a high-quality production.
Swarveni Gurukul
I am Pt. Ashish Narayan Tripathi, and at Swarveni Gurukul, we approach music as a sacred offering rather than a performance. My ensemble and I carry forward the Guru-Shishya tradition, ensuring that every concert we present remains grounded in the meditative depth of Hindustani classical music.
